We had the good fortune of connecting with Steven Schultheis and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Steven, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
CBD products are not as risky as they used to be but things can still get sticky. Back in 2017, it was nearly impossible to have a profitable business selling products as both credit card processing and banking were shutting accounts down left, and right.

We had to deal with many shutdowns. Moving bank to bank, credit card processor, to credit card processor. It was a nightmare of mass proportion. Scammers leaking in the dark to steal your money.

I’m a no-risk, no-reward kind of guy. I prefer being in a high-risk industry that is full of light and excitement.

These experience plays a role in my life because I’m willing to risk big things to get what I want. Lots of gambling with people to see if they react a certain way to a situation to get my way. Bluffing to get a better price. Putting a business relationship on the line to put me in a better situation.

What should our readers know about your business?
Steve’s Goods internal mission has always been to “get the medicine to the people”. This mission statement is true to our core. We offer over 70 different products to ensure people have options on how they want to get their daily dose of hemp cannabinoids.

We struggled very hard to get our brand mission out because of the hate that social media platforms like Instagram provided. We had issues with constant shut-downs of our accounts to silence us from educating. This was hard for us as we were unable to market our products as well.

We mainly relied on Google to bring us, interested buyers.

It is 2022, and you still can’t advertise CBD products on Facebook, Google, or Bing. An account related to CBD products can still get shut down because the algorithm related it to illegal drugs.

Hemp and CBD products are everywhere now, and the mission is pretty set in stone, that the medicine is now to the people.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Hiking and camping as I’m not a city dweller.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My mother always loved me even though she was worried about me constantly in a high-risk industry. She was always there to support me and even helped me set up my first booth on main street Freeport at the local church.

She has been my biggest supporter and was the first to purchase from my website.

Thank you, mom!
