Meet Sujatha Reddy | Traditional Ayurvedic Medicine Doctor and Licensed Professional Counselor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Sujatha Reddy and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sujatha, as a parent, what do you feel is the most meaningful thing you’ve done for them?
Parenting has so many levels and over time is packed with incredible experiences and nuance. Yet, it’s been my experience Mahatma Gandhi’s teaching: “Be the change you want to see”, that has deeply influenced my parenting.
To that end, I have shown my kids that age is no barrier to learning! Thatlearning, improving one’s mind, is a gift to be enjoyed for a lifetime. And, that self-discipline is critical to your sense of well-being, and

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am the owner of a mental health services company, in Lakewood Colorado– Humanly Lakewood. With my staff, we provide flex and leases office space specific to mental
My mission statement is:
“We curate a mutually safe, productive and enjoyable practice environment for clinicians, therapists and their clients.”
After I moved to Colorado in 2014, and deep into my “mid 50’s, what do I do next” self-reflection. I met Sean Boyd and Mark Frank, the founders of Sondermind. At that time, they had just completed creating an innovative franchise business model to support the unique needs of mental health professionals and were looking for potential franchises.
I did not know much about owning a franchise let alone running one. However, they guided and supported me every step of the way. I opened the Lakewood Colorado franchise in April 2016.
I started with one therapist–myself. Over the next two years I was close to my capacity, supporting 35+ therapists.
During these two years of building the business, I attended networking events, hosted meetup groups, marketed my franchise on social media relentlessly. And it paid off.
When COVID hit the use of our Flex-Time-Offices fell dramatically and to say I was scared would be an understatement. Yet the loyalty and trust of many of the members kept us afloat. Indeed, a nerve racking time to be in business.

Why Humanly, what is unique?
Practitioners in the mental health and counseling fields are often confronted with an unintended consequence of this work, that of feeling isolated, overworked, and yes under-paid. Speaking for myself as clinician, this is not a welcome or productive feeling.
I have not only invested in this business to provide for my family–this is also my opportunity, the perfect vehicle for me to create the best working environment therapists. My personal mission statement says this clearly: “We curate a mutually safe, productive and enjoyable practice environment for clinicians, therapists and their clients.”

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
The Colorado mountains. I never pass up an opportunity to take visitors on a mountain ro

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to dedicate my shout out to Dr. Scott Hall who was my supervisor and teacher from the University of Dayton; Dr. Beth McCreary who mentored me through my internship hours, my children who encouraged me to follow my dreams and last but not the least my partner Matt who stands by me in every way.
