Meet Talonnie Granger | Insurance agent & Financial service specialist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Talonnie Granger and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Talonnie, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Progress moves at the speed of trust. I wanted to create a trusted insurance and financial service agency that serves the community I live in. My goal was to create a full-service agency that will grow with my clients as they reached different milestones.

What should our readers know about your business?
I started the Granger Agency almost 2 years ago. When I started my agency, my goal was to provide proper insurance for growing businesses and their families. I’ve grown to where I’m at now by showing up and offering support where it is needed. I customize every insurance policy I write by getting to know the business owner and their business. There was a lot I did not know about running a business. I knew it wasn’t my job to know everything but, to build a team that knew what I didn’t. I have an amazing team of great individuals that help our clients feel valued and supported.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
A full week in Colorado! Well, there is no better way to kick off a vacation than with a good breakfast and mimosas! Traveling can be exhausting so I would start off the week by making a big breakfast at home. I like thick cut bacon so I go to Sams Meats, a local butcher in aurora. Since it is summer time I would take my friend to Stanley Market place. There are so many unique small businesses. They usually have the famers markets in the summer which is a great way to shop locally and really experience the fresh foods Colorado has to offer. No trip would be complete without checking out downtown Denver. I would also take my friend to the MLK library and walk five points. That area of Denver has a lot of history unique to my culture. Of course, we would wrap up our visit by going to the mountains for a hike and a dip in the hot springs.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I have had so many wonderful individuals help and support me on my journey. My amazing friends have offered a unique perspective, provided a listening ear and given me valuable advice. An organization that really changed my life and contiues to show up and support my business is the Urban Leadership Foundation of Colorado. It was during my fellowship with the program I was really given the support and tools I needed to push my business to the next level.
