We had the good fortune of connecting with Tammy Reno and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tammy, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
Originally from the upper peninsula of Michigan with a middle to low class family income, we ate what we had in the house. Basic, simple things. When I saw my friends going through the stay at home Covid time, working from home and trying to have their kids learn from home and try to put a meal on the table, I automatically thought they needed easy comfort food. Durning that stressful time, a homemade comfort meal was what they needed.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I think what sets me apart from a take out restaurant is my caring about the client. I ask questions to suit their needs and really try to help them. Maybe it’s a meeting that ran long and they have no dinner planned, family trip that needs a meal so mom can take a break or a friend that doesn’t cook. Every client is like I’m cooking for family, it’s great to have that personal touch.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We would start for a coffee and a homemade bagel and carvers bakery. Long time favorite and the conversation can’t be beat. In the winter I would take them cross country skiing and the YMCA. Beautiful trails, kind staff, and you can take your dog!
Apres would be at adventures decanted wine bar. Great homemade from scratch food and the best wine selection.
Hernandos pizza , is always a favorite for dinner. Friendly staff, great food and laughs at the bar!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
All of my close friends have supported me through the ever changing start of my business. Whether it be to help with an event last minute, prep or deliver food. Everyone of my close nit circle had their strengths in lifting me to where I am today. A dog walk with some tears of frustration with a friend who listens, is priceless.
