We had the good fortune of connecting with Taylor Ricks and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Taylor, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
As a child, I have always been very creative and wanted to pursue anything in art, whether it was fashion, painting, music, or photography just to name a few. I feel as I have grown the more I wanted to explore what I could do. I will never settle if I know there’s something more out there, but saying that I have found something I love which is photography. Ever since starting my business of photography I stay searching and learning to become a better artistic person.
I pursued this career path because it was meant for me. I was built for this and nothing more.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My art style is still evolving. I wouldn’t say that I have found one yet since I keep learning different techniques and get inspired by many things, from other artists to nature itself. What sets me apart from others is that I am willing to learn and take criticism. I own up to what I can and cannot do. My head is in the clouds full of dreams but I’m never looking down on anyone like some others do when they feel they accomplished something.
I found myself where I am at today due to a lot of tears and fighting. I try not to give up even when times get really hard. But I’m still here fighting for what I want.
I would like the world to know that I am me, and there’s no one else like me. I see the world differently. My brand is about me still finding myself while also creating. I want the world to see what I can do!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to shout out any and everyone that has supported my dreams and pushed me or helped me in anyway to being what I want to be.
