We had the good fortune of connecting with Teju Patel Product Manager & Food Blogger and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Teju Patel, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Risk means different things to different people. I try to think about the trade off of short-term risk vs. my long-term payoff. That helps it seem less scary. I took on social and financial risk when I started my LLC and blog. It took some time for me to calculate if going out of my comfort zone was something that I wanted to do. Instead of going all in, I dipped a toe. I first decided to come up with a plan, how to execute it, and then implementation. This methodical approach made it feel less risky and has helped me try new experiences and endeavors. I recommend stepping out of your comfort zone – it not only leads to growth but builds confidence. I have surprised myself with the things I can accomplish.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I love being a product manager. It is dynamic, interesting, and has enabled me to grow in so many ways. No day is the same and it is always interesting. I believe it is never too late to do what you love. I am proud of all of the software I have brought to life and excited for my future projects.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Denver has so much to offer! Of course I would start with food! I currently live in Castle Rock and here are some gems I have taken friends to: 1) Brunch –hands down Tribe on the Riverwalk , 2) For a fun vibe and upbeat time The Great Divide, 3) To indulge in an awesome cupcake go to The Cake Company. My favorite hood in Denver is Cherry Creek. I love going to: Local Jones, North Italia, Quality Italian, and Margs Taco Bistro. Best places to visit in Denver Wash Park, Shopping at Cherry Creek, and Larimer Square. Possible day trips to Great Sand Dunes National Park and Reserve, Vail, Palisades, Breckenridger, and Rocky Mountain National Park. So many amazing trails all around. Colorado is such a beautiful state.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Thank you to my parents and family. They exposed me to many experiences and kept my mind open to new ones. Big thank you to my husband for making time to help me brainstorm new recipes and taste tests. Also, I would not be the person I am today without my incredible friends. Of course I could not forget my followers! Thank you! I feel blessed.
