We had the good fortune of connecting with Tessa Demidovich and Rafael Del Gallego and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tessa and Rafael, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Kali-Lu Interiors was born from a shared passion for design and construction. From our early days in New York, we bonded over the fact that we both worked in the design and construction industries. Over the years, we had opportunities to collaborate on projects together in NYC. After our twin daughters were born, we decided to move to Denver to be closer to Tessa’s family and raise our daughters in this amazing city.
In Denver, we started from scratch, but with the drive and experience gained from years of working in New York. That’s how Kali-Lu Interiors came to life—a company that blends sophisticated interior design with high-quality construction solutions. Each project is an opportunity to transform spaces and create homes that tell unique stories, and that’s the essence of what we do: bringing harmony and style into our clients’ lives.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Kali-Lu Interiors is the creation of Tessa Demidovich and Rafael Del Gallego, husband and wife duo.
Their journey began in New York, where they both started their careers and worked their way up the ladder in the interior design and construction fields. Mastering their craft in the busy, dog eat dog city of New York really shaped their work ethic and vision for their future company. Whether working on fast deadlines, demanding clients or high end projects requiring extreme detail, they grew through many challenges that the Big Apple brought them and became stronger because of it.
Tessa is known for her creative flair, keen eye, and magnetic energy. She’s deeply involved in every project, ensuring each space feels unique and personal, and her warmth and charisma make clients feel instantly at ease.
Rafa, on the other hand, is all about precision, quality, and style. He’s hands-on with every project, managing the team effectively and making sure every detail is perfect. His dedication to excellence and commitment to client satisfaction drive the company’s success. Together, Tessa and Rafa create a seamless blend of style and structure, making every project feel effortless yet meticulously crafted.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was visiting Denver for a week, I’d want to give them a taste of everything that makes this place special. Here’s how I’d plan it:
Day 1: We’d start easy with a laid-back breakfast at Denver Biscuit Company and then head to Wash Park for a nice walk. It’s the perfect spot to unwind and take in the local vibe.
Day 2: We’d explore the RiNo District, full of amazing street art, craft breweries, and unique shops. We’d grab some drinks at Honey Elixir and check out some local galleries, then finish the evening with dinner at Uchi, one of the best spots for sushi in Denver.
Day 3: We’d spend the afternoon walking around downtown, stopping by Union Station to check out its stunning architecture, making sure to grab a drink at The Cooper Lounge on the mezzanine overlooking the station. We’d catch a Rockies Game at Coors Field, a Denver staple. Then dinner at one of our fav Italian spots Jovaninas Broken Italian
Day 4: A highlight would be a night at Red Rocks Amphitheatre—a must-do, especially since Tessa and I got married there. Whether it’s for a concert or just to take in the views, it’s a spot that never gets old.
Day 5: We’d finish the visit with a day trip to Vail. It’s got that classic mountain-town vibe, perfect for hiking in the summer or skiing in the winter. Plus, the village is full of great spots to eat and relax. Sweet Basil and Alpenrose are our 2 favorite dining spots in the Village.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Our Shoutout goes to Susan Violette and Dan Violette, Tessa’s mom and stepdad, for their unwavering support and mentorship. They have not only been incredible advisors to our business, but their support to our family and help with our twin daughters is something we couldn’t live without. Their presence has been invaluable to the growth and success of Kali-Lu Interiors. We are truly grateful for their support and admire them beyond words.
