Meet Thaina Snyder | Yarn Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Thaina Snyder and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Thaina, every day, we about how much execution matters, but we think ideas matter as well. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
I first tried to crotchet during covid. I have always loved crafting so i thought it would be a good opportunity to learn something new. It turned out to be harder than I expected, so I put down the needles (my fingers) for a while. Fast forward a year and half later to 2022, I was dating my now husband and his mom was in town. she does a lot of crocheting so I showed her what i was trying to do and she helped me through the process. from there i really fell in love. I started making baby blankets for friends new borns. they were so happy with the product that I decided to try and turn it into a real thing,

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a proud latina, born and raised in Brazil, and now I live in Colorado. I am a pet mom, passionate for handmade items, crafts and coffee lover. Since I was a little kid, I always loved creating handmade gifts for people and seeing the joy it brought them. I started hand knitting when I was an Au pair in 2020 in Dillon Colorado as a hobby and soon discovered that my hobby could bring joy to friends and family. My mother in law helped me create my first baby blanket. I saw an opportunity to bring this joy to others and it was then, with the support of my husband, I decided to start my small business. Oi Blankets was founded in March 2022 as a way to use my art and craft skills to bring life to homes all over the country. Oi Blankets has been working hard since its opening. We listen closely to feedback, and we are always striving to make Oi Blankets the best place on the internet for handmade home decor items! I love creating these items because it gives me an opportunity to stay creative while bringing happiness into people’s homes.

I would like to thank my mother in law and my husband for providing the knowledge, support, and push i needed to get started.
