We had the good fortune of connecting with Tammy Edinger and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tammy, what do you attribute your success to?
I think the most important factor behind the success of The Saucy  Cowgirl are the people , that is, our customers and the communities we travel to! They are very supportive and excited to see the variety of goodies we sell and love finding awesome things. We try to focus on the type of people that will be attending the different events we go to, providing something for everyone’s taste.

Though success is a relative term, I also think having fun, and enjoying what you do contributes  to being successful, along with determination.  Being  determined to stay focused & positive makes the path clear and gets you through the uncertainties.

Most importantly never put aside the advice of a successful mentor  because their experience is golden! That definitely sets the bar to succeed.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
The Saucy Cowgirl is a popup western boutique  that you can find at different events & fairs around Colorado. From the Moffat County Hot Air Balloon Festival to the Colorado Professional Rodeo Finals. We sell everything from Cowboy Hats to Sunglasses, Clothing, Jewelry, Tack & Furnishings.

We offer unique products that may not be readily available at other booths. Such as custom made Western Decor & Fun, Specialty Jewelry at reasonable prices. One thing I am really proud of is to be able to pass on the great deals & sales I find! Searching hard for trendy hot items at the best cost possible & passing this forwarded to my customers who I feel deserve it! It’s not always easy running a small business, in fact at times I doubt that what I am bringing to the booth is what the customers want. But I just go forward though, stay positive and the Customers  always seem to leave happy. I have learned in the last six months that everyone’s taste and style is different! This is what makes us all special. Also not to over think just to focus on giving our customers the best possible shopping experience available.  It is important to have fun with your business because this rubs off on to the customers than they are having fun and enjoying their time in our booth! I want others to know that Failure is not trying . It does not matter your age, your walk of life nor your circumstances. There is always an opportunity and when you look for it and reach for it, that’s success.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well of course I would Saddle up the horses & show them the trails on the Western Slope of Colorado from the Flattop Mountains to the Colorado Monument. Stopping for a little skeet shooting on the hillside than down to the Colorado River for white water rafting. Running up to Carbondale to enjoy breakfast at The Village Smithy Restaurant while enjoying the breath taking Mount Sopris. Can’t forget to soak in Glenwood Springs Hot Springs getting rejuvenated for moose watching on the Grand Mesa then off to dinner at the amazing No Coast Sushi Restaurant in Grand Junction. Ending our time together by having a Saucy Cowgirl Cocktail by the campfire in the Rocky Mountains gazing at the bright beautiful stars of Colorado.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have to give credit to my husband who pushed me to go in the direction of this business. He is always there helping me to bring things together and standing by my side. Also my family who tell me that I am amazing, building my confidence , telling me I can succeed. I can always count on them to be there to help and they are my biggest cheerleaders . I can not forget the Small Businesses Owners  I have bugged, picked their  brains, asked for their experiences  & called countless times, they have given me so much advice and  support, it has been overwhelming.
