We had the good fortune of connecting with Courtney Schellenger and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Courtney, what’s something about your industry that outsiders are probably unaware of?
I think one thing that people not in the food truck industry wouldn’t know is how supportive the fellow food truck owners are. Whether it is another dessert truck or any other food truck everyone is so helpful and truly has each other’s back and wants each truck to succeed. When Sprinkle Me Smitten first started it definitely was a learning experience and the other food truck owners were alway there to answer any and all questions! Truly a great community to be a part of!
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I have always had a very committed personality. I don’t give up easily and fight hard for the things that mean a lot to me. Sprinkle Me Smitten hasn’t always been easy and balancing both a corporate day job and running Sprinkle Me Smitten can definitely be challenging, but is so worth it when we get to be a part of making someone’s day! The lessons i’ve learned along the way have taught me so much and made Sprinkle Me Smitten what it is today!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was visiting for a week we would one day have to go to brunch at The Lobby (mimosa towers anyone?). Then we would go to the Dairy Block do some shopping and walking around! The next day spend some time at The Stanley Market Place. One day for lunch would have to be at Happy Camper cause the atmosphere is so fun and you can’t go wrong with their pizza. For dinner we would go to Hop Alley or Blue Sushi in my opinion the best place to get sushi and Chinese. To finish the week we would have to get dessert at Sprinkle Me Smitten! 🙂
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would say my family and my boyfriend deserve a huge shoutout. They have always been there to help pull the trailer, pick up last minute items or jump in wherever needed!
