We had the good fortune of connecting with Theresa Rudel and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Theresa, let’s start by talking about what inspires you?
I am inspired by “I can’t” to “I can” “Negative” to “Positive” The I can’t and negative comments I have heard over the years as being a personal trainer is— I cant loose weight- I cant gain muscles – I don’t have the time -I don’t have good genetics- Im not athletic eat… Im am inspired by proving them wrong! That is why I love what I do. I am inspired helping them find the athlete in them they didn’t think was there. I am inspired when clients start making progress which leads to them leading a fuller life and more confident. I am inspired by clients that couldn’t run a block and soon are running marathons. I am inspired by a client who had to amputate her leg and wanted to give up and with my help she now she can still do what she was doing which was taking long walks, circuit training, hiking, playing the violin and most importantly looking at her posture and not being able to tell she has a prosthesis. before her amputation. I am inspired by clients who come to me and want to do a body building contest and she gets first place her first show. I am inspired by the many clients that say their knees hurt they cant ski or hike anymore and with mobility and strength work as well as cardio they do it better than ever. I am inspired by helping people change their lives for the better!!

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I am the owner of Board30FC which is a fitness studio that is a HIIT Program with all resistance bands in Fort Collins, CO. I have been a fitness trainer for 25 years and needed something of my own so me and my husband looked into franchises and stumbled upon Board30 and it was exactly what I loved- resistance training. We called the Floery Mahoney who is the creator of Board30 and she just posted it under franchises,{ it is a liscenced franchise.} A few weeks later me and my husband drove to Sante Fe where the Flagship studio is and learned from the best- Floery. We both believed in it, I also stayed a week longer to become a Master Trainer. Came back to Fort Collins and it took us 7 month to pick our studio location, design the studio, train our instructors- (we did this out of our garage) and open the doors on December 9th 2019. Band On!!! Board30 is a 30 -45 min HIIT program with resistance bands it creates a system that is high energy, low impact, mind-body, style classes. You get yoga, pilates, cardio, strength training, balance and core all in one class. You can also come to classes for recovery for injuries. We have 12 around the There is nothing like it out there and it is so much fun. That is why not only we have our studio but we also have a small percentage in the company. We just launch mini boards that can be purchased to be used at home and have been working on workout videos online that is through Board30global. Its been a challenge that I would never take back. I love my studio, my instructors and my members, we have built an community within our studio and it keeps adding more family members daily. You must check it out for yourself to see at I talking about or more importantly go experience a class for yourself. I have learned and still learning social marketing, made business decisions good and bad. Then Covid hits a whole new learning curve and so far so good. I absolutely love what I do and believe what I do improves peoples lifestyle. Let’s just say I’m passionate about Board30 and what it has to offer!!!!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We would first hit a local coffee shop and then head to Board30fc for a workout. After that banking its a hot day go up to Horse-tooth Reservoir take a hike then get out our paddle boards and hit the water. Head back to town get a marg at the Rio and hang out – go home to shower and have dinner at one of the many local restaurants in old town. After the first day we then will venture out on road bike to Rist Canyon come back down head toward Noosa homestead show her around and end up coffee, snack at Howling Cow Cafe. Find another quaint place later for happy hour, or take her to Lyrics our local film place- if they have a band listen to it and see a movie while having dinner there. Other days take her to Lori State Park hiking, go water skiing. More restaurants, go to the local boutiques and socializing with our great friends we have developed over the years of living here. The week would be filled with showing off Fort Collins and what it has to offer.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My instructors- Shannon Moore, Pamela Lee, Deb Kenison, Alka Rennat and Kylie Bergmann and my members of Board30fc!! The most important person is Floery Mahoney the inventor, brains and beauty behind it all. Without her and her fitness enthisiast I would not be owning a Board30fc studio as well as being a part of the miniboard30global.com (which is a mini version of our boards in the studio with online videos produced at my studio.) She believed in me and I in her and let me and my husband become a part owner of the company.
