We had the good fortune of connecting with Thomas Hernandez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Thomas, how do you think about risk?
I’ve live my life with the capacity take risks at all cost in which has got my lived experience to my upbringing very challenging to the fact I almost lost it many times over. Yet still today after making a complete 180 degree change for the better that same no fear value I’ve lived all my life has helped me overcome life’s challenges and my success today in business.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
About 8 years ago I was sitting with nothing . I didn’t have a dollar to my name. I was actively using drugs And I had a record That couldn’t get a job at a fast food restaurant. I started at an early age abusing substances drinking at 8 years old soon after harder stuff early teens life on the streets in gang involvement to multiple years of incarceration. I damage every relationship that I came across.. Completely ruined every chance that I had to have a productive and happy life. As I was sitting in contemplating my next move A spark in the dark came to me. Somehow I am going to give back everything that I took away from everyone. Somehow I am going to sober up and am going to prove that I won’t never return to the life I’ve lead. So I want to work. I seek out help through rehabilitation treatment centres nonprofit organisations mentors. I worked any job I possibly could to learn how to work. I volunteer my time to help others and to get them help they needed. I found a talent and going into places that nobody wanted to go. To pick up people in need like I was and take them to safe places. It took me all over the country and I was allowed to see the face of Addiction incarceration. Homelessness to mental illness 1st hand on a national level. During this journey I built a model and put one step forward after the next and created tribe recovery homes. Today it’s a nonprofitIn the Denver metro airy located downtown in the la alhma park area. With multiple recovery homes for men and women to grow and thrive with services employment opportunities education treatment and recovery options. I’ve also started other companies and have partnered with other business owners to create a construction company housing navigation company and an investment group. All of these companie are still growing in cutting their teeth. They are still Gaining vision momentum in coming to their own. I fail more in one day The average person would accept in a lifetime. My life obviously has taught me failure I mentioned my no fear capacity to push through failure has been truly the recipe to my success. It’s a willingness to have the strengthTo fight through anything in fight for the right way of life give back to the community in which you live.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I got to tell you I love my town. I’m originally from Aurora Colorado.. Neighbouring Denver In which I share the majority of my life and days. We have everything that you could possibly want to do for music entertainment. Sports to the arts. Every season you could possibly imagine if you want to go out to the mountains and see another part of Colorado to see the beauty of the rocky mountains. That’s Colorado it’s an around all-in-one place to be.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Today my life is a privileged journey of gratitude for God allowing me to have a second chance at life. I’m a man in long term recovery from substance abuse, gangs and incarceration. I’ve fought for over 7 and half years to come back to my family and community by way of support of many people in the United States that has molded my recovery and career. From people like Christopher Conway from Stout Street Foundation believing in me first. Down to my mother and wife. Mainly my right hand man Daniel Singer. Without this man. Tribe wouldn’t be what it is today. I’m today a man of God. I’m also a man of metaphors. “Start from nothing stop for nothing” is the moto. There is another thah always is said each day said by Wil Smith ” Ridiculous sickening work ethic” I will out work you. “Hard work beats talent when talent dont show up for hard work” and then again I will “hustle til it hurts and make it hurt some more”
