Meet Tiffany Killpack | Creative Soul, Crafter, & Law Student

We had the good fortune of connecting with Tiffany Killpack and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tiffany, what is the most important factor behind your success?
My brand Tifjany Creates is fueled by the authentic desire to bring joy into people’s lives. When I create anything, I like to put it where I can see it often. If I finish a project before bed, I might prop it up on my nightstand or hang it on the back of my bedroom door. Every time I glance at it, a smile spreads across my face, and I want that for other people. I think that’s the most important factor behind why my brand resonates with people. I genuinely want the stickers, signs, and decor I create to make people happy.

Much of my success also comes from my brand being exactly who I am with no gimmicks or deception. As I create, I find my mind wandering in thoughts about life and the world and what meaning is behind what I’m doing. Then when I post on Instagram or Facebook to share my creation, those musings are exactly what I talk about. I really am just a law student in Wyoming who wants to create things that make people happy. It’s that simple.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
For the longest time I tried to fit myself in a box. I knew I liked to paint, so I tried to brand myself as a painter. While I had lots of fun, I had no training or experience and am not a very good painter. So I told myself I wasn’t an artist. I tried to study graphic design to cultivate my natural artistic eye, but I focused instead on other studies and that fell apart, too. This same pattern has continued most of my life as I picked up new interests. I like a little bit of everything and am a master of none.

When I discovered crafting with my Cricut, I found that I could combine all my skills and interests without worrying what to call myself. I can paint anything I want and add beautiful vinyl lettering to it. I can tap into my spirituality and faith using digital art by sketching out a scripture on my iPad and cutting it into vinyl for a sign. I can turn my beloved grandma’s recipes into wall art to preserve her memory and her gift. I do not have to be one thing as a crafter. I can make beautiful things and be myself, and that’s enough.

My development professionally has come from realizing that I don’t need to be the best acrylic painter, or a graphic designer, or a charcoal artist. I can just be a Creator and a Crafter, and be a little bit of everything I love to do. Each part of me contributes to the beauty of what I create.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Laramie is a fun little place to be. If my best friend visited we would for sure have to go eat downtown, where there are so many amazing little spots like Sweet Melissa’s and Born in a Barn. We would certainly get sushi at Niko (the Las Vegas roll is to die for), and go for a hike in scenic Vedauwoo National Forest right outside the city.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to dedicate my shoutout to my dad. Dan is a master carpenter and is more than willing to share wood scraps with me for signs, or make custom frames for my work. He is always willing to chat and problem solve with me about paint and stain and sandpaper. He shares not only his tools and his time, but his heart and his talent with me. He will always make a trip to Menards to bring me wood rounds for my popular circle signs when he and my mom come to visit. His support, love, and wisdom are the world to me.
