Meet Todd & Melissa Nieber | Todd- Creative Director, Melissa- Creative Accomplice

We had the good fortune of connecting with Todd & Melissa Nieber and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Todd & Melissa, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
“Looking back, all of our big decisions have been a little risky. Move to Denver, CO from the east coast without any job leads… not a problem, 6 years later start a branding & design studio… sure why not, 2 years later let’s move to the mountains and build our own house… great idea! ”
With Todd’s ability to live in the moment paired with his creative mindset, and Melissa’s visionary skills and constant desire to plan and problem solve, these two are not afraid of risks and never stop dreaming of the next big adventure or how to make their current adventure even better. The years have been filled with long days and nights strategizing and meeting deadlines in their basement, then a camper, and now a beautiful mountain home office. No matter what their work environment looked like, they were constantly pushing the boundaries of design and their capabilities at a high level. They live for the challenges and opportunities to add to their skillsets. For MTN Creative, taking risks comes with constant learning, growth, and many rewards.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
The artwork of MTN Creative is a mixture of traditional graphic design styles, illustration, and typography. They are different in many ways but one thing that stands out is the collaboration between Todd and Melissa when starting a new project. They both have very different perspectives and creative approaches but when the two come together it tends to be something quite unique. When one of them is extremely passionate about a specific project, it drives the other to level up and push their limits. They are very excited to be going into their 6th year of business and overly proud of the work they’ve completed. Lot’s of hard work and dedication to the craft has led them to where they are today. Nothing came easy during their journey but knowing how good the reward would be, it was always worth it. A lot has been learned along the way, from time management, client relationships and retention, to finding new outlets for inspiration. They find tranquility and motivation from their mountain studio, surrounded by nature and epic views. MTN Creative is eager to partner with like-minded individuals and businesses that have a mission to positively impact others and our environment.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
So let’s say our bestie was flying into DIA and we had to go pick them up. Our first stop on the way back to the mountains would be at Station 26 Brewing Co. They have some of the best brews and beertenders in the state! Their Juicy Banger IPA is a staple! We would then make our way around the city and up to Hops & Pie for lunch and a beer. Their selection is unreal and pizza is perfection. After that, grab some meat to grill from Western Daughters on Tejon St. and head out to Morrison. You guessed it, we’ll be setting up for some good ol’ tailgating at Red Rocks Amphitheater. Anything from bluegrass to heavy metal would be on the line-up. We’d then cruise further away from Denver to our mountain home in Bailey where we’d probably enjoy some beverages around the fire pit and listen out for Sasquatch! Speaking of Sassy, we’d probably wake up early and head into Bailey to visit the historic The Sasquatch Outpost & Musuem followed by lunch at Aspen Peak Winery and then beers over at Mad Jack’s Mountain Brewery. We’d take a hike literally anywhere as long as the weather cooperated and maybe dip our toes in the North Fork of the South Platte River. Depending on the time of year, we’d head back into Denver for some more good eats at Los Chingones and beers at Ratio Beerworks. There are way too many amazing places to visit and hang at but I know for sure, whoever wants to come visit us, we guarantee you’ll have the best time ever!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The success of MTN Creative is a culmination of people, places, and things! But most of all from our family, friends, and clients. They have supported us from the start, trusted us with their new ventures and brands, and continue to spread the love which in turn has expanded our client base drastically. We also owe a lot of credit to the entrepreneurs and creatives who we’ve surrounded ourselves with, they have provided us with inspiration, resources, and the camaraderie that we’ve needed to survive over the years.
