We had the good fortune of connecting with Tomas Caballero and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tomas, what makes you happy? Why?
Doing photography full-time is what makes me happy. Its my passion and being able to live from it is priceless. So I can’t see myself doing something else now and for the upcoming years.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I have come to develop my own flambient photos, but I always apply what I was taught in the books, with no secrets. Photographing interiors is not easy. Houses were not made to be photographed. They will need help with additional portable lights to expose them properly.

If you are looking for an accurate color balance representation, you will need the flash, and how you manipulate it around the room feels like painting. By blending some Ambient exposures of the windows illuminating the room with additional flash-pops to supplement dark areas in the room, you create even lighting and what is known today as Flambient Photography.

We want to provide high-quality Real Estate Photography, it is a very cool Modern Art that has grown rapidly around the world, and being able to do it as a full-time living is a blessing. In addition, we can handle small to massive spaces thanks to our multiple lights gear!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would start with a Green Mountain hike to climate them and show them the city. Then off to Golden. If in the snow season, we would hit the slopes around Vail and Ski Cooper. If in Summer, a Leadville Twin lakes expedition would be ideal, Turquoise lake!

I would go to Union Station, Larimer Square, and Washington Park in the city. Bike around and finish up with some burgers downtown. Doing a brewery tour is the perfect plan; hit all the main spots such as Blue Moon (Denver), Avery (Boulder), and New Belgium (In Ft Collins).

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Family support was vital. Regardless, they were always there.

Also, as a Mentor, I have Nathan Cool, a Flambient photographer in California who has become one of the best in the industry. I have all of his 7 books. He is a genius.
