Meet Trevor Gass: Photographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Trevor Gass and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Trevor, can you share the most important lesson you’ve learned over the course of your career?
The most important thing I have come to understand from starting and running my photography business is that one should never stop learning. Continuously learning ways to improve my craft and level of service ensures that my clients always receive my absolute best effort. A complacent photographer is destined to be surpassed quickly by those who are hungry and have a competitive edge. With the development of new technical, artistic, and service-related technologies and best practices, there is no shortage of new things to learn and try. In addition to helping me stay on top of industry trends, constantly searching for ways to streamline my processes also helps keep my job fresh and engaging. You can never become bored if you’re always looking for new ways to approach old problems!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
While I feel that my photography has a specific style that helps separate me from some others in the field, the overall client experience I deliver is something that definitely sets me apart from the majority of photographers out there. As needed and requested, I aim to lead my clients through their many choices and options, remain in contact to make sure all their needs are met, and follow through to image delivery with a reveal viewing (for wedding photography clients) to showcase all of their beautiful memories in style! While I still have many things to learn in order to continue growing as a person and professional, I can say that making educated choices when trying new things (marketing, networking, technology) has helped get me to where I am today. I definitely do not recommend jumping haphazardly into any decision, but waiting for “the perfect time” to invest in your company can result in paralysis of uncertainties. Sometimes, you just need to take a leap and see where you land!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’d definitely hit up Union Station in Denver for the sights and eats, Red Rocks for its iconic views (and maybe a concert), mountain towns like Estes Park, Breckenridge, or Vail, and trails in Rocky Mountain National Park or other favorites like Hanging Lake.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The one person I would like to recognize for her contribution to my success is my beautiful wife, Gabrielle. Without her constant and undying support, I would not have made it very far in this highly competitive field.
