We had the good fortune of connecting with Trevor/Jacob Garofano/Marlega and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Trevor/Jacob, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor behind success is delivering an honest product, with after purchase service. We’re able to offer a commercial grade product, at a residential price to to over 12 years of commercial mushroom cultivation. We make it easy, and cook your spawn FRESH TO ORDER.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
What sets us apart is we’re commercial cultivators. Most others are hobbyists, or enthusiasts masquerading as professionals. We also care about a good honest product, done with the upmost care and quality. We’ve learned that even if you don’t have the capital investment in the beginning, over the long run a good product always outlasts clever marketing and soulless products.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Denver is an awesome city, if you know where to look. North Denver, a grimey charm, only those who work there can appreciate. From run down factories to bustling taco trucks, this part of the city still holds on to Denver’s soul. Devoid of dorm-like departments, and a bulk of the city’s heavy industry, this eclectic area offers those courageous enough endless value. From the towering Suncor to local gems like Pasianos Sausage, we couldn’t tell our story without this part of town. Before you make it downtown, the first place we’d start, is the Fifth String. Their food is dope, and they have a bad group of chefs ready to transform Colorado’s bounty into tabletop bliss. After that we’d take you on a long board ride through the wide, yet certainly urban streets. Ride that hill down from the Fifth String, all the way down to 5 points, where our office is. This is one of the few neighborhoods in Denver preserved as it was countless years ago. You would be hard pressed not to grab a slice from the window, or a donut down the street at Pandemic Donuts, located in Queen City Coffee. Once the sweat has settled, you’ve taken a shower, and you put a button up shirt on, you’ve got to stroll on over to Shells and Sauce. This neighborhood hidden gem has been buying and serving our delicious mushrooms for almost 5 years now. As you can see, food and cultivation is how we roll. We hope you check out some of our favorite spots, you won’t regret it.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
We’d like to shout out Myxed Up! They were out first brick and mortar customer, and they have stuck with us since day 1. Between the awesome staff, and proclivity to endorse Colorado Local brands, they seriously rock.
