We had the good fortune of connecting with Trinity Rouse and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Trinity, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I view risk as an opportunity of greater impact. Whenever I am presented with a risk, I always look at the pros and cons of it, and whether the pros align with my goals and values. I think the word “risk” has such a negative connotation because there is always a negative outcome attached to it, but to make a positive change we have to look any situation with a optimistic viewpoint. One “risk” I took a year ago was to represent my cultural heritage as Miss Philippines at the Wichita Asian Festival – which was my first ever pageant. Serving as a community representative required a significant amount of time, work, and dedication (on top of being a junior in high school at that time). After the pageant, I continued taking “risks” by competing in a local pageant which further pushed me towards competing in Miss Kansas Teen USA this past summer. I took the “risk” of giving it my all, and while I did not walk away with a crown from any of the three pageants, I walk forward as a more confident, driven, and empowered young woman who now knows what I have to offer for others and what I can accomplish in future pageant competitions and my developing career.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I started my modeling career when I was 12, thanks to my mother’s encouragement. I did not fit into the typical “model stereotype.” Instead, I was sporty with about seven years karate under my belt, and definitely uninterested in anything else. This all changed when I was presented a contract offer with my mother agency, M&I Models, and the opportunity to travel to Dallas and represent myself to agencies across the nation. From that exciting week, I found a new journey after stepping out of my comfort zone and onto the runway.

What sets me apart in the modeling world is my unique journey, which has much more to come. With around five years of experience as a model, I look forward to pursue this as a long term career, as I now have national representation with MMG Model & Talent Management (based in NYC), alongside my future studies of accounting in college and aim to become a CPA. While I represent products and brands as a model now, I also want to look at the other side of business and help clients organize their own. I am proud of the progress I have made so far. Each booking with a client, whether in a local fashion show or a campaign with important organizations including “Rise Against Hunger”, not only make a difference in the success of my career but in others’ businesses and our goals.

Modeling is not a cakewalk. While modeling can seem effortlessly glamorous to the public, it requires a significant sacrifice of time like any other job – especially staying healthy and keeping a fashionable appearance. Many stereotype this responsibility, but my experience has been an amazing opportunity to transform the way I manage my time, problem-solve, and improve my confidence. Modeling has taught me countless lessons including interview skills, maintaining a public profile, professional communication, and work ethic. Learning the importance of these skills early on undoubtedly equips me continue pursuing success in my academics and pageantry.

I want the world to know my story can be anyone else’s story which is: we are unique, have something to offer to the world, and just need to step out of our comfort zones and work hard towards finding what that is and making it happen. Through doing this, we can truly find ourselves and our purpose.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The first place my best friend and I would have to visit is one of the many delicious boba cafes in Wichita! I love how they’re the perfect place to hang out, chat, or even get in some homework time. We also love to try out all kinds of cuisine, whether it be Mediterranean, Hawaiian, Asian, Italian or anything else we can find. After that, we would definitely spend hours in shopping centers like the Greenwich Place or Towne East Square. It would be awesome attending a fun concert together at Century II or Intrust Bank Arena!
I would spend time with my bestie driving around town and enjoying each other’s company. I think the best thing in Wichita, and Kansas, is the people themselves.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to dedicate my shoutout to all my family, friends, teachers, and advocates for always supporting me with such love and care! Thank you for making such a positive impact on many lives, including mine.
