We had the good fortune of connecting with Tylor Berreth and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tylor, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind the success of our business is focusing on community. It is our belief that the community in which you are operating within and around is the most important thing to consider for a business like ours. How much our business will grow, or not, is a direct reflection of how we impact those that we are surrounded by. It is our goal to provide the local community and all those who play a part in it with fresh wholesome food, herbal medicines, and donation-based education. We source as much food as possible locally to support the surrounding rural communities.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
We are one of the few eateries in the San Luis Valley offering plant based and inspired food from local and organic ingredients. We also specialize in medicinal mushroom extracts such as Lions Mane mushroom. We are in the process of having a Tent-To-Table mushroom grow within our bakery space located in historic Saguache, Colorado. We were inspired by the idea of food as medicine. Having both studied healthcare and nutrition, we aim to offer botanical and mushroom infused local meals and drinks for our community. We live a humble off grid life nestled between the San Juan and Sangre De Cristo Mountain ranges. Incorporating permaculture and regenerative agriculture concepts, we strive to build healthy soil while providing nutrient dense food.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We live in a small town of roughly 500 people. If you make your way through Saguache be sure to check out Saguache Works. They are a local and organic grocery store with similar vision to our values. Also the Saguache Library connected to Otto Mears Park.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
