We had the good fortune of connecting with Valeria Moonch and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Valeria, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I’ve always wanted to do something for myself, in the right place in the right moment. That moment for me was in the minute that I felt that my product/service is what I want to give to my clients, that means high quality and creativity. In my opinion, for photography, quality is something that you develop through experience. I spent many years working as a freelancer for different agencies and I always thought that when I decide to make my own project it will be when I have perfected my product, discovering this after several years of working hard, knowing my clients needs, shooting more than 300 events, lifestyle photoshoots and brand content.
I love what I do and I enjoy what I do because I know what Im doing (production and post production) and that is an incredible feeling, perfect way to start your own business.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I would like to talk about wildwildweddings.com my wedding project here in the States. This is my Newborn! Im very proud that after many years of doing wedding photography I finally launched my own brand.
This project is challenging, no doubt, I arrived here with my husband during a Pandemic, presenting a new brand in a place full of other great professionals! but doing what I love I can overcome any challenge. Perseverance is something I have learned over the years.
I want the world to know that my photography is Timeless, Candid, Creative and Fun! Im a storyteller, a ninja with a camera, ready to capture the best moments in life. I take care of my clients in the field and in the post production process, delivering a dynamic and high quality album, that is my brand promise!
Same about brand content photography! feel free to check out my other facet in www.valeriamoonch.com to find fun and creative brand content, lifestyle and travel material.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would bring my friends to hike, or ski depending the season, The Mountains are something that Im still exploring and Im in love! Before we start our trip, we would go to The Molecule Effect to grab a Dirty Chai or a White Pistachio Latte! then head off to Red Rocks or Garden of Gods which is close to where I live. Then we will drive to Vail to take the gondola to the top of the mountain, making sure there is a Farmers Market that day. Next Hike, BoothFalls! in the Fall, with the yellow and beautiful Aspen trees around us and why not keep it moving to Aspen.
I would love to stop in Vinca Wine Bar & Restaurant in Broomfield to eat fresh mussels and great wine. Better if Sandra the creative behind @born_with_dreams and owners wife is there!
Coming back to Denver, the first stop would be Angelo´s Taverna to enjoy the best fresh Oysters the city has to offer with a cold glass of white wine.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Wow good question! Im so thankful with many people, friends, family that maybe I will not have enough lines to write this but… – My family: always supporting my decision to leave my country and follow my dreams 11 years ago when an agency hired me to photograph in Mexico. They are always there supporting me and sending me love to make what I love, photography. Especially my mom, Marina Munchmeyer.
– My husband Scott Elms, always empowering me to give my best and trusting in my skills. If I would have a manager it would be him!
– My last boss, Matt Adcock from Del Sol Photography, he was the only boss who seat down by my side and helped me to send my quality to the next level in Weddings. Actually it’s a good friend!
– My Friends in Mexico that became my international family! because who can live without friends? friends from around the world open your mind.
– My new friends here in Colorado, I will repeat Who can live without friends?? it has been a slow process to make friends during this pandemic but not impossible, it makes me happy to meet great & kind people here, willing to helping each other’s. Looking forward to meet more. – I would love to thanks to Felicia Anzaldúa from The Colorado Wedding Magazine for trusting me and giving me the opportunity to show my work and for introducing me to new and incredible people in Colorado – Thanks to Sandra Rozsypal from @born_with_dreans for recommend me Shoutout! And collaborate with me in great & creative projects!
