We had the good fortune of connecting with Vanessa Rose and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Vanessa, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking.
Risk-taking has been a pivotal part of both my personal and professional journey. For me, taking risks is about having faith—not just in the process but in myself and the path I’m walking. I’ve always believed that growth lies just outside of our comfort zones, and that belief has guided me through some of the most transformative decisions of my life.

For example, transitioning from a decade-long career in the beauty industry to real estate wasn’t an easy decision. It meant leaving behind something I had mastered to start fresh in a completely new field. But I trusted my ability to adapt, my passion for helping others, and my determination to succeed. That leap of faith led me to a career that fulfills me in ways I never imagined.

Risk-taking isn’t about being reckless; it’s about aligning your decisions with your purpose and values. For me, it’s about weighing the potential reward against the fear of the unknown and deciding that what’s on the other side is worth the challenge. Whether it’s opening a business, pursuing my passions, or raising my children with the same fearless spirit, taking risks has always been a way for me to honor my growth and trust God’s plan.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My real estate business is rooted in connection, care, and helping people navigate some of the most significant transitions in their lives. Whether it’s a family finding their dream home, a military buyer PCSing from out of the country, or a seller ready to move on to their next chapter, I take pride in providing personalized guidance and support every step of the way.

What sets me apart is my ability to truly connect with people. My background as a cosmetologist and salon owner taught me the importance of listening to clients, understanding their needs, and creating a positive experience. I bring those same values into real estate, ensuring my clients feel seen, heard, and cared for. I also involve my children in the journey, which adds a personal touch—I love when my youngest son joins me at showings and helps make the process fun for families!

Getting to where I am today wasn’t easy, but it’s been worth every challenge. Transitioning from the beauty industry to real estate meant starting from scratch in many ways. I faced self-doubt, learned the intricacies of a new industry, and worked tirelessly to build a client base. But through hard work, faith, and determination, I’ve grown a business that I’m proud of.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that success isn’t just about closing deals—it’s about relationships. Being there for my clients as a resource, a guide, and sometimes even a friend is what keeps me passionate about what I do.

What I want the world to know about my real estate business is that it’s more than just helping people buy or sell homes. It’s about creating a positive and empowering experience that gives my clients confidence, joy, and peace of mind in every step of the process.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was visiting, I’d make sure their trip was packed with unforgettable experiences that highlight the beauty, charm, and fun of this area!

Day 1: Downtown Colorado Springs & Nightlife
We’d kick things off in downtown Colorado Springs with a stop at Cork & Cask for a delicious craft cocktail and cozy atmosphere. Afterward, we’d head to Louie Louie’s Piano Bar for live music, singing along to classics, and a lively night of entertainment.

Day 2: Garden of the Gods & Manitou Springs
We’d start the day with a sunrise hike at Garden of the Gods to take in the breathtaking rock formations. Afterward, we’d head to Manitou Springs, where we’d explore the quirky shops, play vintage games at the Penny Arcade, and unwind with a relaxing soak at SunWater Spa.

Day 3: Broadmoor & Red Rock Canyon
A visit to the iconic Broadmoor is a must. We’d spend the morning exploring its beautiful grounds and maybe enjoy brunch there. In the afternoon, we’d hike the trails at Red Rock Canyon—a local gem for outdoor enthusiasts.

Day 4: Shopping Extravaganza
We’d dedicate this day to shopping! First, we’d hit the Outlets at Castle Rock for deals on everything from designer brands to unique finds. Then, we’d head back to Colorado Springs and explore the chic stores at The Promenade Shops at Briargate, where we’d pick up a mix of local and high-end treasures.

Day 5: Local Eats & Drinks
We’d keep it laid-back and indulge in some amazing food. A visit to Dos Santos for tacos and margaritas is non-negotiable—the vibe and flavors are unmatched. Later, we’d relax and sip wine at Cork & Cask again because it’s too good to visit just once.

Day 6: Hot Springs Relaxation
We’d take a short trip to enjoy some well-deserved relaxation at the hot springs. Soaking in natural mineral pools is the perfect way to rejuvenate after a busy week.

Day 7: Scenic Farewell
For our final day, we’d revisit Garden of the Gods for a leisurely stroll, soaking in the majestic views one last time. We’d end the trip with a luxurious dinner at the Broadmoor, reminiscing about the week’s adventures.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I wouldn’t be where I am today without the unwavering support and love of so many people in my life. First and foremost, my shoutout goes to my children, Khloe, Keoni, and Kingston. They are my constant motivation and the reason I push myself to be better every day. Their love and belief in me remind me of what’s truly important and keep me grounded through all the highs and lows.

I also want to recognize my faith and the spiritual foundation that has guided me through every decision, risk, and challenge. Knowing that God is with me in every step has given me the courage to pursue my dreams, even when the road seemed uncertain.

Professionally, my journey has been shaped by incredible mentors and clients who trusted me early on, whether it was in the beauty industry or real estate. Their encouragement helped me see my own potential and gave me the confidence to keep moving forward.
