Meet Vee Than | Lash Artist & Lip Tech

We had the good fortune of connecting with Vee Than and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Vee, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I started The Lovely Lotus to offer solutions to those who want to simplify their beauty routine, and to help woman build up their confidence and feel beautiful in their own skin. It’s truly been the best reward to be able to help others by creating beauty that lasts. A passion creating personalized techniques that fit your lifestyle and face shape and creating beautiful sets that compliment your eyes, lips, and facial features. Working for myself has always been something that sparked my attention! I enjoy being a business owner, I like doing things in my own way.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
The Lovely Lotus specializes in services such as lash extensions, brow tint, brow lamination, and lip filler.
Before my business, I was in medical school to become a RN, I had to drop out due to financial difficulties during the pandemic. I needed to find a way to bring in money, so I started a business selling clothes, accessories, and making custom shirts. That didn’t work out for me. I wanted to give up. I felt like I couldn’t do it, I told myself I couldn’t do it and that being an entrepreneur wasn’t for me because I didn’t know what I had gotten myself into and that my business would fail. BUT I didn’t give up, I decided to go to beauty school and that’s when The Lovely Lotus started in May 2022.
I let go of trying to be the best because it leads to a lot of stress. I start with loving what I’m doing at any given moment and focusing my attention on positivity. I am very passionate about what I do as a business owner, that I am always looking for different ways to improve for my business. It’s the simple things that make a huge difference and a great impression!
Overcoming challenges is what makes a great person. I embrace my losses, I learn from my mistakes. Nothing that I have ever achieved in life was due to being handed opportunities, they were achieved through hard work and being resilient. If you believe it, you can achieve it.
What I do is more than just a service, it all comes down to creating an amazing experience, using high quality products and ensuring I keep my clients happy.
My goal has always been to run my own business. I love working for myself and building personal relationships with people. The craft itself is my favorite aspect of the job and seeing their faces light up at the end of their appointment makes me happy. I am continuously immersing myself in and investing in more education so that I may have an ever-growing knowledge of techniques and services to be able to offer my clients and give the best experience.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My husband Alex is my main biggest supporter. He’s a business owner himself. So he definitely knows what it’s like to do one thing and start another. I thought about all the things I did not do. I wanted to be obedient to what I’ve been called to do. However, I’ve been so afraid to press GO since then. Every time I look at him, I remind myself why I did it, why I wanted to be where I wanted to be. My husband has stayed on me thick and thin, reminding me to not be afraid. He really encouraged me when I doubted if I would ever thought negatively. He has supported me and led our family in more ways than I have time to list. Because of this alignment, we have seen so many of our prayers manifest and this is only the beginning.
