Meet Venessa Hamaker | NCEA Certified Licensed Esthetician & Massage Therapist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Venessa Hamaker and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Venessa, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My journey back to business ownership was driven by a desire for creativity and connection. After a rewarding period working with a chiropractor and focusing on my two children, I realized I missed the freedom to curate a specific healing environment for my clients. My thought process was centered on ‘balance’—creating a space where I could share my passion for wellness with others while maintaining the flexibility to be the present wife and mother my family needs. Going back to school for my Esthetics license was the final piece of that puzzle, allowing me to expand my creative reach.”

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
At Clair Elizabeth Beauty & Co. in Longmont, I provide a holistic, results-driven approach to wellness through high-end massage and advanced skincare. What truly sets me apart is the integration of my 17 years as a massage therapist with my expertise as an NCEA Certified Licensed Esthetician. I don’t just treat the skin or the muscles in isolation; I treat the whole person.
I’m most proud of the curated experience I’ve built—specifically my ‘Ritual Memberships’ and the use of the Osmosis Beauty line, which focuses on permanent skin remodeling from the inside out rather than just surface-level fixes. I’m excited every day to offer a space where clinical results meet deep, restorative relaxation.
My path has been a journey of evolution rather than a straight line. I previously owned a studio in Grand Junction, but I chose to step away for a time to be a present mother for my two children. Returning to the industry in 2021 meant starting fresh in a new landscape.
It wasn’t always easy; the biggest challenge was balancing the physical demands of a long-term massage career with the desire for creative freedom and family flexibility. I overcame this by investing in myself—going back to school for my Esthetics license to diversify my skills. This ‘pivot’ allowed me to protect my body from the physical toll of pure massage work while expanding the ways I can help my clients.
The most vital lesson I’ve learned is that success is built on a foundation of mentorship and constant curiosity. As my mentor Suzi Nira taught me, you have to stay hungry for knowledge and lead with grace. I’ve also learned that as a woman and a mother, ‘flexibility’ isn’t just a perk of business ownership—it’s a strategy for longevity. If you don’t build a business that supports your life, you won’t be able to support your clients long-term.
I want the world to know that Clair Elizabeth Beauty & Co. is a brand rooted in the belief that self-care is a necessity, not a luxury. My story is one of a mother and a professional who refused to choose between career and family, instead building a business that honors both. When you walk into my studio, you are getting nearly two decades of healing touch and advanced clinical knowledge, all delivered with the goal of making you feel confident and renewed in your own skin.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend were coming to visit, I’d want them to experience the perfect mix of ‘small-town soul’ and the active Colorado lifestyle that makes Longmont feel like home. Here’s what our week would look like:
The ‘Longmont Local’ Itinerary
Friday: Maverick Spirit & Tacos
We’d kick things off with some serious local energy at a Mead Mavericks Friday night football game. There is nothing like the community spirit under those stadium lights! After the game, we’d head to Jefe’s for street tacos and margaritas—it’s always vibrant, fun, and the perfect way to jumpstart the weekend.
Saturday: Beignets & Creative Therapy
Saturday morning is for a slow, soulful breakfast at Lucile’s. I’d insist on the beignets and a big cup of coffee while we catch up. Afterward, we’d walk off breakfast and head to Crackpots to paint some pottery. It’s my favorite way to chat and be creative without any of the daily ‘hustle’ getting in the way.
Sunday: Lake Life & Views
Sunday is all about the outdoors. We’d take the paddleboards out to McIntosh Lake. The view of Longs Peak from the water is breathtaking and always centers me. If we aren’t feeling the water, a long hike nearby is a must to soak in that fresh Colorado air.
Monday: Main Street Charm
We’d spend a casual afternoon wandering Downtown Main Street. I love supporting our local shops and boutiques—it’s where you really feel the heartbeat of the business community here. We’d pop into the little shops, grab a snack, and just enjoy the walkability of the area.
Tuesday: Brews & Good Vibes
To wrap up the visit, we’d head over to Collision Brewery. The atmosphere there is so cool and relaxed—it’s the best spot to grab a drink, some great food, and just toast to a perfect week.
What I love most about Longmont is the balance. In one week, you can go from the adrenaline of a high school football game to the total peace of a paddleboard at sunrise. It’s a place that lets you be both active and still, which is exactly how I try to live my life.”

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
If I have to point to one person who truly shaped my trajectory, it would be Suzi Nira, the owner of Advanced Aesthetics Academy in Loveland, CO. Suzi isn’t just a mentor; she remains a permanent fixture on my vision board as the standard for who I strive to be as a business owner and a friend.
Her passion for teaching made me excited to show up every single day. She cultivated an environment where curiosity was celebrated, and she possessed a rare ability to see potential in us that we hadn’t yet discovered in ourselves. During a period when my personal life was incredibly stressful, Suzi met me with unwavering grace, ensuring I didn’t just ‘get through’ the program, but that I finished on top. I owe so much of my current success to her mentorship and the high standard of excellence she modeled for me.
