We had the good fortune of connecting with Robert Polizzi and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Robert, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I wanted to make more of a difference serving and helping people. I wanted to be different from the rest of the other companies that do what I do. My company would be different in approach, different in classes taught, and different in classes are taught.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I got started as a lifeguard, a swim instructor, and first responder on the weekends. It was challenging, as I was told when I was young “job on the side dream on the other” so trying to create my dream while working was incredibly tough, especially with so many people telling me to face what I was trying to create is a failure. my company is called Act N Rescue, my goal is to teach and train people to make a difference in the community. My brand is about serving others, helping people in the community to be more than what they are, and teaching people how to be ready to save a life. I’ve had so many lessons but I’ll make it short with a few like “If you want to be the best, you need to be different then the rest”, or “if you ever want to finish something, first you have to get started”, and “if you see beauty in something, do wait for others to agree”.
