We had the good fortune of connecting with Veronica Betancourt and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Veronica, what role has risk played in your life or career?
My life and my approach to things are shaped by my willingness to take risks. The best things in life are those that push you beyond your comfort zone. As an immigrant, leaving my home and starting somewhere else has been by far the biggest risk I’ve taken, but I love change. Sure, new experiences may come with growing pains from time to time, but after feeling that fear of not knowing what to expect, the rewards are much greater. My business and being an entrepreneur have taught me that I take risks every day, from the smallest decision to those that have life-altering effects, and that’s what makes it exciting.
What should our readers know about your business?
Organizing events has always been my passion. Back home in Venezuela, I worked as an event planner while also attending business school. Even though it was challenging at times, juggling both, I enjoyed it so much that I never felt like it was work. It was obvious to me when I decided I wanted to start my own business here in Denver, my new home, what I wanted to do. After starting my wedding planning business, I wanted something more, something that brought me closer to those celebrating any occasion. This led me to create NOW photo booth. I’m so excited about this new project and all it can provide. I believe so much in it and I can’t wait to see everything it can bring, but bringing something new to a very saturated market isn’t as easy as it seems. You have to be patient and let people get to know you and your products.
Perhaps NOW photo booth sounds like just another rental service, but I truly believe that what sets us apart is kindness and empathy. It is our way of doing things differently, we care, we love what we do, and we are committed to making our clients feel so special and heard. Creating fantastic experiences for each and every occasion. As we always say, every event needs a way to be remembered.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well it depends on the season,
Winter time:
Snowboarding in Loveland, soaking in Glenwood hot springs or strawberry hot springs in steamboat is my ultimate favorite.
Summer time:
Hiking the Rocky Mountains and go camping.
Visit Red Rocks Amphitheater and if we are lucky go to a show there.
Sunday brunch at sassafras’s American eatery
Welton Room for amazing drinks.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Augusto Fossi, My boyfriend.
My biggest fan, my supporter, and my cheerleader in times of self-doubt, he always keeps me grounded and focused on my goals.
