Meet Virginia Frischkorn | Founder and CEO, Partytrick

We had the good fortune of connecting with Virginia Frischkorn and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Virginia, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I believe that so much of life is about weighing risks, taking risks, and creating amazing memories that arise when you’re fully embracing life and the opportunities presented to oneself. For me, taking risks, calculated and sometimes not, has played a big part in my success and happiness. With that said, my tolerance for risk has changed a lot over the course of my life personally, professionally, as well as in relationships. Some of the larger risks I’ve taken in the past have created some of the most memorable and impactful moments. Be it starting numerous companies, bungee jumping, starting a family, or choosing to get divorced, each large risk has taught me so much about myself. I”m a firm believer that it’s important to make educated decisions but sometimes pushing the boundary and taking a little extra risk, makes it that much more rewarding.
What should our readers know about your business?
Partytrick is here to disrupt the industry and make a positive and massive impact and change on how humanity hosts and gathers. We’re on a mission to empower others by providing them the tools to design, plan, and host fabulous experiences. From a date night, to a kiddo playdate, to a book club, to holiday parties, I firmly believe that gathering is a necessity and not a luxury. I want the world to be a more connected (in person!) society. With that said, we’re a category creator business. We’re different than anything else out there that wants to help foster in person connection. We are the top-down, end to end resource for inspo, sourcing, and tools that help make the experience come together.
Getting here… well, it’s been a journey! I’ve launched 4 companies in the event industry. I’ve planned gatherings from 2 person picnics to multi-million dollar experiences. And, through that the key learning that the most important thing to nearly everybody is having a great experience shared with friends. This knowledge has lit the way for where we are today. It has kept me going round the clock when people have told me no to fundraising requests, has kept me pushing day after day after personnel issues, has kept me optimistic despite website crashes and malfunctions. Grit, persistence and a growth mindset with a fierce dedication to the vision have been my key lessons through every up and down I’ve experienced. =
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love my neighbhordhood and surrounding neighborhoods in Denver and love showing them off to friends visiting. I currently am in the historic Denver Country Club neighbhorhood. With that base information, I’d craft time with friends getting coffee at Aviano, enjoying the rooftop restaurant at the Clayton, Kini’s, Safta, Chook, or Izakaya Den. The chef’s table at Mercantile once held the most special hidden spot in my heart… I love hosting at home and would take most any opportunity to order in or cook and hang in my backyard.
I’m a very active person and getting out and about is a big part of showing off Denver. Morning runs around Cheesman or Wash Park are a must. Strolling around the Botanic Gardens. Playing tennis at Gates. As an art lover, exploring museums with friends is a big part of my shared time showing off town.
I have a secret obsession with a Korean Spa that i’ll take the closest of friends too:) 5Star Salt Caves is a fave as well. And, my favorite farmers market is the South Pearl Sunday Market.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Community has been at the crux of my success. This has ranged from my family, to high school friends and peers, event industry community, and now my entrepreneurial community. While the journey of an entrepreneur is a lonely one, ultimately we’re not alone. I’m beyond grateful to my family: my mother, my father, my sister, my brother, and my kiddos for the support, encouragement, and love.
