We had the good fortune of connecting with WilliË Schandel and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi WilliË, why did you pursue a creative career?
When I was a kid, I didn’t learn to speak until I listened to a song on the radio and that’s how I found my voice and I knew my destiny right then and there was music so as I got older, I got into it more finding my biggest inspiration through The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Elton John, and then it progressed to Ozzy Osbourne, Van Halen, Mötley Crüe, Motörhead, Metallica, Judas Priest, iron maiden, and introduced me to my love of all of other genres as well. It really inspired me to pick up an instrument start playing and write songs and get myself out there in the world music. It really gave me the ability to express myself like nobody else could.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I create music that helps people get through the guard times. Are there live in motivate them to go after their dreams and goals. It’s really my ambition and my biggest objective to really write songs and help out people through my music because I’ve been through so many challenges in my life where it was the darkest times of my life and I wanna give something back to the world and help out people and encourage him to follow their dreams. My songs are a message to them telling them to never give up always believe in yourself because I’ve been where you were before. Most of all I want to show the world that with the power of the dream with a great sense of optimism and integrity you can be very successful and true to yourself whatever you do with your life whether it’s music, business or sports or even film whatever path you take anything is possible

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Definitely the alley in downtown Littleton. It’s really the best bar and grill for live music and local music. There’s always so much unique and wonderful talent there that has the most underrated musicians and it surprised me all the time when I go there whether it’s a Tuesday open mic night or a local band or local artist playing there it’s fascinating to see such great talent. Also, it’s a wonderful atmosphere. The people are friendly, and the people are very supportive. I also like Herman’s Hideaway because it has the best musical acts both famous and local and it’s a really great atmosphere where everybody can have fun.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?

Luke Story , James Steinbach , Jenny Shawnhan , Jake Christiansen My little brother Preston Allen and sister Grace and all of my entire family in Friends, who are my life heroes.
