We had the good fortune of connecting with Woo$kee and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Woo$kee, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Risks are and will always be everything. You will never know what’s going to happen until you do it. No matter the consequences nor the circumstances should you ever back down from a risk in my opinion. I get it though, you can’t take EVERY risk, but at the same time if you feel it deep down there’s potential for you then there is nothing you SHOULDN’T take it for. All in all the risks I’ve taken have been up and down but to get to the point that I’m at (which isn’t anything crazy) have been worth it.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I create music. My genres have varied from hiphop, R&B, pop, and a lot more. In my city and music in the industry in general, I feel like there are many things and styles inspired by other artist I can do, but there aren’t many who can do what I do. Starting out I’ve had to do a lot of trial and error as far as finding studios that I liked, sounds that stocked, genuine people who seen my vision, etc. I got to a point where I felt the need to take myself more serious and started putting out videos and my first album “New Year New $kee” in 2018. As time passed and I created more content, I met producer/engineer, and friend Zkivu and joined the team “Zkivu Park”. Being apart of this team has brought a new professionalism and energy to my career. We are still grinding to get the name bigger and better every day while we do our best to stay as consistent and pristine as possible with our content. I can’t give a crazy inspirational speech but if I’ve learned anything it’s to always stay true to yourself. I know my style isn’t everyone’s cup of tea right now, but I know one thing I know is that my style will NEVER change for anyone. I have faith regardless that on top of the success I’ve gotten that more is still on the way.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
First if you want the real Pittsburgh experience any locals going to tell you to hit up primanti bros. If you want a good view I wouldn’t be surprised if someone tells you to go to the overlook in Mt Washington. Nightlife? You’re going to end up on The North Shore, or 9/10 South Side. Pirates, Steelers, Penguins? Depending on the time of year we gotta go to a game from whoever’s playing!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Just want to give a shout out to my team “Zkivu Park” and everyone who’s supported me.
