We had the good fortune of connecting with Zach Jacobs and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Zach, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?

Well, growing up around Atlanta you know that music and fashion are staples of the city. The idea behind Snow Pirates Co. is to combine our passion for snowboarding (and skiing) with those staples we grew up with, creating a unique snow-gear streetwear brand. There are riders out there who truly love to shred to their core, so much so that they are willing to give up luxuries to live a minimalist lifestyle, a pirate lifestyle, so they can shred everyday. That way of life inspires Snow Pirates Co.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?

Snow Pirates Co. is a small start-up out of Denver, CO. We are excited to launch our Winter Collection 2022 this fall including uniquely designed jackets, bibs, goggles, other apparel items, and a limited supply of our handmade, signature snowboard “The Pirate Ship.” Also during this upcoming season we are excited to sign the first few riders to our team, The Pirate Crew. We try to be better riders with each day on the mountain, and we have that same mindset when it comes to Snow Pirates Co. We want to become something better each day, and be a company that truly represents the culture and gives back to the community rather than a company solely trying to make a profit.

What does the perfect week of shredding look like in Colorado?

Well, you can’t do it all in a week, but you can try lol. Say you land in Denver late January, and it has been snowing nonstop for days with more storms forecasted. We make it to Loveland Pass and arrive as the sun rises and get some laps in before Keystone opens. We stop in River Run Village to get a breakfast crepe and get on the Gondola, and when we get off at the summit it’s a race to The Outback. We ride all day until the lights turn on then hit Red Mountain Grill afterwards to talk shit with Nate the bartender and get dinner. The next few days we get first chair and beat the rush to Vail’s Legendary Back Bowls. We have smushed sandwiches and beers in our backpacks to last us for days. We then head to our final stop at Winter X-Games in Aspen where we close out the weekend riding Buttermilk and partying with a community of riders celebrating the culture.
