Meet Zach Watkins | Creative Director for LVTD Digital

We had the good fortune of connecting with Zach Watkins and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Zach, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
I’m from Colorado, born and raised in Colorado Springs in 1989. It’s amazing to see how much this city has changed over the years. So much good has been brought to COS, but I’ve noticed something missing. While we have some good production companies, there aren’t many that offer high-quality media at prices people can actually afford.

My dad was a contractor and ran his own business. He taught me about honesty, good work, and fair pricing. He showed me that success isn’t just about making money. It’s about providing great service and working together with others. There’s enough work for everyone, and we all do better when we support each other. That’s the main idea behind LVTD Digital. I want to help businesses grow with strong visuals that not only boost their brands but also help our local community.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
There are tons of production companies and videographers out there. What makes us different is our style and how we tell a story. For me, it’s all about knowing the brand and the people behind it. I don’t just show up with a camera. I take the time to understand who you are and what message your audience needs to hear. If you have a marketing team, that’s even better. As a past marketing director, I know how to work with others and create visuals that fit your brand.

Getting to where I am wasn’t easy. I struggled with feelings of self-doubt. For a long time, I listened to past bosses and my worries telling me I wasn’t good enough. But with support from others and a focus on my mental health, I pushed through. I learned that being desperate doesn’t help your business. It’s tempting to undercharge to get clients when you’re just starting. But those low-paying clients often cause more stress than they’re worth. It’s important to stand up for your value as a creative.

I want everyone to know that a good video is powerful, but it’s not just about recording. Around 62% of people think less of a brand when they see poor video quality. We all have phones that can shoot video, but making content look great takes real skill. Things like lighting, sound, and story matter a lot. At LVTD Digital, I focus on making your video look good and ensuring it matches your brand and hits home with the right audience.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
This is something that we often do. My wife is from Las Vegas, and her friends and family come out here yearly. The last time, we planned a full itinerary. We started with Lunch and wine at Wines of Colorado. Then we went to Sunwater Spa for a soak in their mineral tubs. After that, we ate at Azteca Urbano, the Warehouse for happy hour and food, then patty jewett bar.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to give a huge shoutout to my wife, Zoe. She’s the reason I am where I am today. From the start, she has been my support. She pushed me to take the leap and start LVTD Digital.

Starting a business is tough. Zoe has been by my side through it all. When I started to doubt myself, she cheered me on. She kept things running at home and made sure our daughter was well taken care of while I worked long hours.

For years, I played around with video but never felt ready to dive in. Zoe believed in me before I believed in myself. When I finally listened to her instead of my doubts, everything changed. It was the best choice I ever made, and I wouldn’t be here without her support.
