We had the good fortune of connecting with Zaman Khan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Zaman, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
I tend to focus on improving my techniques and learning new methods. Having passion and goals help me to stay disciplined, so that I can remain consistent and produce good work. I strive to share my perception with others and I think my dedication is what drives the ultimate success of my business.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Photography has provided me a way to express my creativity as well as travel to see the world. It provides so many different opportunities and gives unique perspectives that the typical person may not always see and find beauty in. I’ve learned many lessons on my journey that have essentially made me not only a better photographer, but a better person. The desire to always keep improving, having patience in the process, and allowing constructive criticism and analysis of my work really guides me and is essential in my life and work.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Whenever I’m meeting with a friend and my plan is to show them a good time, I always gravitate towards the hidden gems and not just the tourist spots. The excitement in sharing a beautiful and unique moment is greater when you can provide an experience that you can’t find on a postcard.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’ve always been inspired by Serge Ramelli, who’s a French photographer whose work has been published in over 400 galleries. His style captivates me and essentially he was the foundation of who I wanted to learn from.
