We had the good fortune of connecting with Zeona McIntyre and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I use my knowledge of personal finance and over 10 years of investing in and managing properties, to consult my clients on how to find their unique path towards financial independence. This is through one-on-one consulting, working with them as a real estate agent, and online classes. I focus on some unique real estate strategies to get clients to their goals faster like creative financing, house hacking, short-term and mid-term rentals. In 2022, I released the best selling book, “30 Day Stay. The Real Estate Investors Guide to Mastering the Medium-term rental.” to help more people realize their dream of financial independence and freedom to travel the world, through investing in furnished rentals.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I have now lived in Boulder over 12 years and have grown to love it more and more each year. Here is an ideal day in Boulder. I would start off the day with an easy loop hike at Chautauqua Park to enjoy the stunning views, then brunch at the delicious and delightful Chautauqua Dining Hall. Next we would pick up B cycle (rental) bikes and enjoy the bike path by the majestic red brick, CU Boulder campus towards downtown (enjoying the effortless downhill cruise). Next we would enjoy a stroll down Pearl street, stopping in Kucha Tea House for a vanilla rooibos Boba Tea to quench our thirst while we shop. Lunch would be at the hidden gem Arabesque, where all the food is lovingly prepared by the owner. Then continue on West to the end of Pearl street to Settlers Park, where we will be met with a short steep climb and rewarded with jutting red rocks and a spectacular view for sunset.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to dedicate my success to early financial independence bloggers like the Longmont local, Mr. Money Mustache, and Early Retirement Extreme. This was in a time before the rise of social media when it was less common to find an example of what is possible in the realm of financial freedom, independence, and early retirement. Since then the FIRE movement has exploded and it is common to meet others on the path, and yet I am so grateful that these brave folks shared their stories to inspire me to follow in their footsteps.
