What habits do you feel helped you succeed?

There is a wealth of research that indicates that certain habits can help increase your productivity, creativity, and/or drive. So, we thought we’d reach out to respected members of our community and ask them what habits they feel helped them succeed.

My daily habits for success start with prayer, setting my intentions for the day, and expressing gratitude. I prioritize personal hygiene and take my supplements before diving into my morning routine. I dedicate time to reading the Bible, stating affirmations, and visualizing my goals, which helps me maintain clarity and focus. Next I exercise. One habit that I stuck to for many years, as any established musician would have, is being committed to routine (especially routinely practicing set amount of hours at the same time everyday) no matter what. I spent 20s and 30s without holidays as 6:00 p.m. everyday was the time I had to be in the practice room. I studied with and assisted (as a teaching assistant during my student years) teachers that demonstrated that practicing everyday is a life style, not a course of study or means to succeed.
