I’m from Bayou Des Allemands a small bayou town outside of New Orleans, Louisiana. We grew up pretty poor but you really don’t know that as a kid. I come from a family of addicts. Most of my mom’s side of the family has passed away young due to drug or alcohol addiction. I always knew I wanted out of the life I was born into; I knew I wanted better for myself than what was expected of me. I moved out while I was still in High School. I put myself through college and law school with very little financial or emotional support from my family. My mom passed away before she was 50, while I was in my second year of law school. I was born In South Carolina, but Im From San Antonio, TX . As a child I spent a lot of time at my Grandparents house ( Papa &Granny) My Grandpa was a WW2 Veteran and my grandmother was a nurse so everything was really structured and we lived by a routine. My Granny loved to shop and cook. I had a really great child hood . I think being around two people who worked really hard and lived a life were they could do whatever they wanted whenever they wanted really made me want to work hard to live that same life. I was born in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, a republic of the former Soviet Union and as a child, immigrated to the United States. In my early childhood and in teenage years I suffered through different kinds of serious chronic illness, including Chrohn’s disease. My parents were always aware of alternative medicines and took me to healers, herbalists, acupuncturists, and shamans.  Though I will always be thankful to western medicine, through my body’s healing journey I learned about the power, magic, alchemy, and most of all, the enduring efficacy of holistic healing.
