Meet Hunter Wilson | Producer/Audio Engineer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Hunter Wilson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Hunter, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I’ve had a dying urge in me since I was a child to be something and do something bigger and better in my life. I’ve always been the kind of guy that really wanted to work hard, but never told what to do and how to do it. I started Oracle Sound Studios with first and foremost a love and passion for music and engineering. One of the main things I wanted was to be a reliable source of information and skill to help my clients reach their full potential. I had been producing the Th3rd Coast Roots sophomore album “Love Is The Answer”, as well as helping friends engineer and mix some recordings when I realized how passionate I was for the craft.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I started playing drums around the age of 9 and continued down my musical journey for many years which unraveled a whole new world of the music industry. I got into beat making probably around the age of 13/14 with some friends in the neighborhood I grew up in. I always had this burning passion inside of me to be a creator of music. I had played with a few bands growing up but nothing was ever serious. It was probably around the year 2016 when I realized if I took things a bit more serious I could actually be successful at music and build a career off of it.
I started the band Th3rdCoastRoots with a good friend of mine Jayton, and now my wife, Marisa. At first, it was mainly for fun, but shortly after we all realized we had something in store and started setting big goals. Only a short 4 months into the bands existence we cut our first record “Not Afraid” and started booking shows across the southern Texas area. This is the moment when the spark had been ignited and I knew for sure, no matter what it took, I was going to pursue music full time.
As the bands success started to grow, I became more obsessed with sound design, production, and just audio in general. shortly after the first year in the band I started taking on the lead production roll for all of the new music, which again only fueled my fire. This lead me into the kickstart of my full production studio Oracle Sound Studios. The studio is located in Houston Texas and I have been honored to work alongside some of my greatest inspirations.
Th3rd Coast Rots just released the sophomore album “Love Is The Answer” on April 21st which was all engineered and produced here at Oracle Sound Studios. I had the pleasure of tracking and playing all instruments but guitar.
Blessed to say that Oracle Sound has been busier than ever before as we are continuing to grow our network and resources. The whole journey has been a tough, long road and I’ve learned so much along the way. I am thankful that i get to share my passion for music and audio engineering to help others reach their goals. It means the world to me when i can make someone extremely happy with the art they have created.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Oh man, I am a foodie at heart and Houston has some of the best food ever. You can often find my wife and I exploring all the new food joints around town as we both truly love trying new food.
Recently some of our favorite places have been Velvet Taco for an awesome unique twist on tacos. Escalante’s or Gloria’s for good authentic Mexican/Salvadorian food.
For drinks, I love trying new craft brewery’s around the town. Some of my favorite are Saloon Door, Urban South, and 8th wonder.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to give a huge shoutout to God and my Wife for being a constant in my life. Without them I would be nothing. Also, shoutout to my friends, family, and my clients who’ve pushed me to my fullest potential as well!
