We had the good fortune of connecting with Bron Lowe and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Bron, maybe we can start at the very start – the idea – how did you come up with the idea for your business?
I’ve always loved photography. From a very young age I remember grabbing my mom’s camera all the time and taking photos of the mountains, animals, and nature. I absolutely loved it. After high school I worked for a racehorse breeder and they asked me if I could take some photos of their yearlings for a magazine and I was hooked. I started practicing, learning editing and advertising for sessions. I started with families and shot my first wedding in 2014. I now do a mixture of weddings, elopments, families and boudoir
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My photography style is a more true to life color with a little boldness thrown in. I want people to look at their photos years from now and still be in love with them. Starting my own business has never been easy. The decision to start it? Absolutely! I started out knowing what I wanted to do but wasn’t sure how to get there. I took a few business classes and followed lots of photography groups for advice. Comparing my work to others has probably been one of my biggest challenges. Thinking I’m not good enough. One thing I have learned is you can’t compare yourself to others. Everyone has their own style, technique and way of doing things. Being unique and not trying to “be the same as so and so” is why my clients come to me.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I have so many favorite places around Colorado! I would take them to Estes Park. Go hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park. Dream lake, up to Trail Ridge Road and Moraine Park. Have coffee on the river every morning and definitely visit Casa Grande. Antonio’s for pizza and Munchin House are some of my fave’s also! I’m such an outdoorsy person so hiking is definitely at the top of my agenda!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My amazing husband Nick! He has been the one who encouraged me to follow my dreams. Even when I’ve been frustrated and wanted to quit, he pushed me to keep going and not give up.
