We had the good fortune of connecting with Joya Burrell and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Joya, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
What I feel is most responsible for the success of myself and my business is truly loving what I do. I put a lot of love in my products and it really shows. Everything I do is always made with love and care. Plus seeing my products benefit my customers (Bellas) makes me want to keep going harder, get better and expand what my brand can offer.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What keeps me busy professionally is creating new products and services, researching and testing. A lot of creativity and patience goes into what I do, which is a part of what I love about my business. To me, it’s important to stay consistent. When you put your all into something and love what you do, it definitely shows in the way it’s presented. Sometimes I can be my worst critic, but to me, that shows how important my brand is. Also, networking and marketing definitely keep me busy as well. But, the benefits of doing so have led me to several business opportunities. Mostly from doing local small business vendor events.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I truly love where I am from. I enjoy hanging out in Denver, there is so much culture. I don’t have anywhere specific, but anyplace vegan or vegetarian is top of my list. Bowling, shooting pool or just hanging out downtown is always a good time. I’m thinking about trying the scooters next time I’m there!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I definitely want to shoutout The Kaleidoscope Project and all of the small business vendors that host the local networking events! This is a big deal to us entrepreneurs. It really helps with marketing and business growth.
