We had the good fortune of connecting with Michele Davies and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Michele, what is the most important factor behind your success?
For me, it’s perfection or as close to it as I can get. Nana’s cookie Corner is my life and how I keep Nana’s memory alive so everything I do, every order I take, I put my all into. If that means working overnights to make sure things are done right then I do just that. I never freeze my cookies, I bake all orders fresh to order. I want my clients to feel the love poured into each order and know how much I put into each one. I pride myself in how many hours I put into each order, how I respond to client messages and how helpful I try to be with each person that orders from me.

What should our readers know about your business?
I have to say that I am most proud of jumping into a business that already has many others in the same field and never giving up. I stayed positive, kept baking and pride myself in great customer service for my clients and anyone new that comes along. I have learned that time management is the most important and that sometimes you have to say no. I am known to take as many orders as people come to me with, even if it means no sleep for days at a time because I’m a people pleaser but I have learned that sometimes you have to say no. I take as many as I can while staying true to how I want things done. Cookies will always be fresh, never frozen, I will always be as flexible and accommodating to each and every one of my clients so we both have a great experience.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If I had a friend coming to visit here, I would say we would have to go to Garden of the Gods to either walk around and eat somewhere down there because there are a lot of great places over there. I can’t think of anything specific. I would probably have to do a wolf walk there as well because that is a fantastic experience that they do over there where you can walk a wolf while getting to enjoy the scenery and red rocks. I would definitely go up to Breckenridge as well, especially in the Winter to walk the shops, eat and go sledding with our dogs.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Nana’s Cookie Corner wouldn’t exist without Nana herself. She was the absolute best Nana, great cook and baker and so funny. She was my best friend and when she was taken from us, it was life shattering. I couldn’t function, was depressed and had no idea how to live without her phone calls to check in or her funny comments of encouragement. She is the reason for Nana’s Cookie Corner and I’m grateful for all she taught me, her passion for cooking and baking for family and this is just a reminder of her love everyday. I have to also thank my husband Mark because he has supported me since day 1. He has stayed up through the night to help clean, prep dough, put boxes together, bake and he is my delivery guy when able. All he wants is for my success and to honor Nana and without him, I wouldn’t be where I am today. My entire family has been nothing but supportive of me and my parents never stopped believing in me from the moment this took off. I just want to keep making everyone proud and continuing to honor Nana. The support from my parents since the start of business until now has been amazing and something that I will cherish forever. They have been there for me every step of the way and kept pushing me to be my best. I couldn’t have done this without them.
