We had the good fortune of connecting with Lennon Barnica and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lennon, do you have any habits that you feel contribute to your effectiveness?
I feel like persistence and drive has been my key to where we are at today. Never stop trying even if you fail, always find a new route if one didn’t work, and I find myself constantly trying to improve the model. Whether its internal operation or our actual physical space.

What should our readers know about your business?
We are a video production company specializing in the Commercial space. Part of what sets us apart is we are based in Colorado, where most of our competition is in LA or NY. There are some efficiencies in the production space being based here that can make parts of our job easier and more cost effective when it comes to shooting locations. We also feel living in a beautiful state where the outdoors are so easy to escape too here it gives us a a little shangri-la experience vs the larger cities where most of our competitions reside.

I started as an intern at a big agency (CPB) about 12 years ago. They had a video department there and I slowly worked my way up. Eventually, I helped branch that internal video department outside of the agency space so it was its own entity. Two years ago come October I will celebrate 100% ownership of the company. Parts of this journey have been easy yes, and then a fair amount not so much. You just have to keep riding the waves and power through every challenge. There is always a way to achieve your goals. If your first route doesn’t work, find another one, and keep finding other routes until you get there. Persistence I believe has gotten me where I am today.

I have learned that positivity can go a long way. Trusting your gut, if something doesn’t feel right its probably not. If something isn’t working for you, fix it…the longer you wait the worse it gets. You should be constantly changing and innovation yourself and your company. There is always room for getting better. If you are not growing, your company is not growing. I do not like hierarchy and do not run my teams that way. We all play an important roll, and no one should be better than any task. When I feel respected, I want to put my best foot forward, so why not treat people you work with the same way.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Pizzeria locale in Boulder is one of my wife and I’s favorite spot. Bobby Stuckey (owner) does such a great job with all of his restaurants you can’t go wrong with any of his spots in Boulder or Denver. Red Rocks is a no brainer weather its a movie or a concert is an amazing place. Any of the food halls have so much to offer from an experience stand point, and shops. The Denver Milk Market, The Source, Stanley market place, etc.

Seeing any of our sports teams pending the season, going on hikes, and so many mountain towns all around us you can’t go wrong.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
For me it’s mostly my people and family! My mom for getting me into the industry by introducing me to one of her clients who worked at CPB. Idalia Deshon, Dre Krichevsky who hired me and showed me the ropes, Rupert Samuel who assisted me climbing the ladders within the company I was at, My team (Kate Swenson, Kaylee Behn, Ky Lotte, Jessica Farmer) for inspiring me to grow Wild Manor and make it better for all of us. My wife (Becky Herman) for listening to all of my struggles and helping me make the right choices. Chuck Porter who’s been a huge guidance for me in big decisions, and finally Dusty Nelson my last mentor who inspired me in making the leap in going out on my own.
