We had the good fortune of connecting with Taylor Anderson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Taylor, what role has risk played in your life or career?
While I am naturally the kind of person who would rather play it safe than throw caution to the wind, taking risks has shaped every accomplishment I have ever had. I went to school at Colorado Christian University to get a degree in Business Administration. Shortly after I enrolled, I was in a car accident that really prohibited me from reaching my full potential at the time. I had always been a straight-A student, so not having the same capability I grew up with was devastating. After shifting between the mentalities of “pursuing something greater” and “failing at the one thing I had always planned on”, I made the decision to put a pause on school and pursue my real estate career. While I had many mixed emotions about it at the time, this came to be the best decision I’d ever made. I have grown to teach myself that if I am comfortable where I am at, then I am failing to push myself to my fullest potential. The saying goes “the greater the risk, the greater the reward”. I’m a firm believer that we will never accomplish anything great if we are comfortable with what we are doing. My advice is to attack every situation fearlessly, having full confidence in your ability to become greater.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
While community and the housing industry have always been a passion of mine, it was just recently I realized real estate encompasses both (if not more) of these ideas. While many agents are often seen as either distant or intimidating, I make it my mission to reverse that stigma. Community has shaped my life in countless ways, so being in the position to give back is a tremendous honor. I work in a community based industry – meaning that I work for and with those around me. I aim to be a trusted real estate advisor, and to provide those around me with all the information they will need to confidently make decisions. I treat my clients the same as I would my family, because to me, they are family! I strive to have genuine, life-long relationships with all of my clients, so if there is anyone out there looking for a friend who has your best interest at heart (who happens to be a real estate agent), I’m the person for the job!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The first place I ALWAYS recommend people should visit is Woody’s Pizza in Golden! The buffet they offer is enough food for a football team, the pizza is always fresh-baked, and the beer cheese soup is incredible. A little local secret: if you see a pizza on the menu that’s not on the buffet at that time, you can ask the chefs to make it for you – they are more than accommodating! My favorite coffee shop is Sweet Bloom in Lakewood. All of their coffee is sourced from overseas and roasted/grinded in the Lakewood cafe. In Denver, The Punchbowl Social is one of my favorite places to hang out. Aside from their scratch kitchen and unique drinks, Punchbowl Social is an entertainer’s dream. Bowling allies, dart lanes, an arcade, shuffleboard, an upstairs bar, and a patio for nice evenings are just some of the things it has to offer. The Denver Flea Market has countless unique products and foods to offer – the perfect Saturday morning activity. If you’re looking to get into nature, Hanging Lake is one of the most breathtaking places I’ve ever been. Also in that area is Cave of the Winds – perfect for exploring some of the largest underground caves – and Iron Mountain Hot Springs – the largest natural hot springs in CO. The Great Sand Dunes are about five hours Southwest of Denver, but again, will not disappoint!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My husband, Austin, has been my biggest cheerleader and supporter since day one. At my lowest points, he is always there to lift me up and pour love and confidence into me. At my highest points, he always cheers me on and makes my accomplishments feel all the more important. He has taught me what it is to love selflessly, something that I have made such a strong priority in both my personal and work life. I’m so thankful I have such a special person to go through life with and to always share in new dreams with. Between finishing up his Business Degree and bartending 40+ hours a week, he is the true depiction of hard work and determination.
