We had the good fortune of connecting with Rezquizit and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rezquizit, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Starting a business is not what everybody thinks it is, there are many sleepless nights and hours of constant work even when everyone else is sleeping. I’m awake. I knew that if I could build my own record label, my team and my family would have residuals for life without incorporating a middle man. There will always be an obstacle, but if you adapt you will overcome many situations and, in the music industry, there are plenty. The best thing I could say as far a business goes, is stay loyal to your cause and don’t let the lime light blind you, save half and invest the rest. Go all in in anyway possible, but also be cautious of the ways you choose to do so and watch the people you keep around you. Be precise about decision making and maintaining positive relations with those that make you’re business thrive.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am the C.E.O and Head Engineer for Rezquizit Records. What sets my team and myself apart from others and other labels is the fact that we do whatever type of music we want while maintaining good position in our niche profession. I am always excited when I get big name placements on our works, and have the opportunity to indulge in business conversations with people that have a well established presence. Business wise if you don’t put your money where you mouth is, or your actions do match the work, then you won’t get too far, but beware of people out for fast money too. Some folks in this industry don’t care about anything you do or who you are as long as they get what they want, so get what you want first and be the one with the force to change the tides. I’ve learned to not trust everybody and keep my hearts guard up with everything. This is a cutthroat industry but I’m here to take the head off of a snake with my team right next to me.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
As always I have to give thanks to my team and my family, but also to my colleagues and my haters. It all goes full circle. My real shoutout goes to everybody that’s out here trying to live their dreams and do something for the future while staying true to themselves, that’s why I say “Stay Rezquizit”. If I wasn’t true to myself and my work I would not have the opportunity to do things in this industry. I do however want to give a big thanks to my brother S07, Big Deneez, KeNikki, Jakoby Gunz, BWillz, Rage Zaragoza, JDoe Money, and everyone that keeps the name alive, for being in my corner at the best and worst times. If you’re out here staying Rezquizit and being all you can be, then this Shoutout if for you too.
