We had the good fortune of connecting with Malika Sengsavath and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Malika, how do you think about risk?
I think of taking risk as the chance to better myself and the opportunity to learn new things. The phrase “nothing in life worth having comes easy” has been a staple that I continue to live by. Taking risks has helped me gain confidence in anything I do because it shows me that I can accomplish anything I set my mind to. Starting & managing a business while also being employed full time has been a test of perseverance and reflects passion in what I do.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My business is veteran/military owned & operated. I have been in the U.S. Air Force for 7.5 years and am still continuing to serve. I think it is very important to find something you enjoy and are passionate about and pursue that. I originally thought being employed full time and starting a business was going to be very overwhelming, but I love detailing so much that it doesn’t feel like (additional) work at all. When I first started, I actually got a second job to use that income in order to be able to buy all of my supplies up front. I have done a lot of product testing to find the best quality products for all of my customer’s detailing needs. Each product I currently use, I have used on my own vehicle first to ensure it was up to my own high standards.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Some of my favorite spots to visit would be Red Rocks, whether it be for a concert or an early morning workout. Depending on the time of year, we could go to Bandimere Speedway to watch some races/events. We could also attend a Rockies or an Avalanche game. Some of my favorite spots to eat would be Snooze, The Melting Pot, and La Loma. If we were to venture out of the Denver area, some of my favorite locations to visit would be Steamboat Springs, Breckenridge, and Estes Park.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to dedicate this shout out to my husband (Shaun) and my family. My husband was there every step of the way as I was building the business. He is always suggesting my business to people looking for a detailer and has even helped me on a couple large jobs when I was first starting out. My family members have also been large supporters because they continue booking their cars for details with me and recommend my services to other friends and family.
