We had the good fortune of connecting with Abagail Kirat and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Abagail, maybe we can start at the very start – the idea – how did you come up with the idea for your business?
We’ve had the idea of opening a coffee shop for years! In our opinion, northern NJ has always lacked fun, clean, trendy coffee spots that make you want to stay awhile. Our design and aesthetic is inspired by the hundreds of coffee shops we have traveled to over the years. We’ve been vegan for almost 7 years, and for 7 years, it’s been so hard finding a sweet treat. We knew that any vegan would travel to find a tasty dessert, so we just kept marching on with that idea in mind. We hope that we’re filling a hole in the market – vegan baked goods and really good coffee!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Honestly, we’re winging it! I’ve worked at a family-owned restaurant (Casa D’Pizza in Denville, NJ) since I was 17 years old and continue to pick up shifts there when I can. Over the years, I’ve picked up so many do’s and don’ts of the restaurant industry – and I didn’t realize that until we started making big decisions for All Roads. Other than that, I’ve been a Pilates Instructor since 2018. Having worked these jobs for so long, I feel like I’ve got a degree in customer service! That’s the extent of my experience, so I’ll just say that passion is the driving force for All Roads.

We want people to know that All Roads is set on maintaining high quality and a clean aesthetic. We made the decision long before opening that we wouldn’t cut any corners to make things easier. We want to deliver the absolute best in the vegan space!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Check out Lake Hopatcong for restaurants, boating, water sports, and walking trails!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Our opening success is largely thanks to the constant support of vegans, “sometimes-vegans”, and “vegan-curious” folks. Your open minds have allowed us to experiment with new recipes and to keep expanding our menu. We love learning everyone’s story, and we feel like we’re growing the vegan community here in northern NJ.
