Meet Erika Nicole | Founder/CEO

We had the good fortune of connecting with Erika Nicole and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Erika, what do you attribute your success to?
This is a tough one. As a Black woman, I believe there’s a duty I must uphold as a founder for my community. The full success of my brand is determined by the impact its message holds – “making life beautiful and worth the shot”. But even before that, sourcing quality, cruelty-free, and sustainable products is just as necessary. I am creating a brand that is designed to serve the community. As long as I can continue to do this and on a greater scale, this is how I will continue to measure its success.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My professional background blankets a few industries such as Mental Health, Education, and Marketing. But one thing that is common is the type of communities I have served. It brings me intense joy to work with individuals through challenges as we all know those in life are temporary. How I became a full-time entrepreneur was through being laid-off this year (on Friday the 13th at that lol) and tapping into my skill set. Through the ups and downs with healing, mentally, physically, and even financially that I experienced prior to being laid-off, I believe it was just what God ordered for me. To say it is easy, I’d be lying. But nothing worth having comes easy to any of us. I knew that ownership would unlock an avenue to health and wealth not only for my legacy but for the communities I served years ago. So I am glad I had the courage to pursue launching Lotus Noir when I did. I’ve learned that in order for true success to happen, you have to be true to who you are. Never waiver if someone is seeking for you to compromise your values or beliefs. Find you a community of people who wholeheartedly want to see you THRIVE instead of just SURVIVE. I need the world to know to KEEP GOING! Do the good that your heart and make each and every day we have here beautiful and worth the shot!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First, I want to give honor to God who is the cause for my very existence. Without Him, none of this would ever be possible nor would I have the solid people in my life He has blessed me with. My group of support is so colorful and I am grateful to do life with these humans. My mother has been the most solid and constant source of pure love and understanding. And my husband and children root me on every step of the way. I have “Sistahs”, because I don’t have any real sisters that push me further each and every time! I do not take it lightly that I have them in my life. This is for US YALL!
