Meet RoseWood | upcoming rock band from a small lake town

We had the good fortune of connecting with RoseWood and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi RoseWood, can you tell us more about your background and the role it’s played in shaping who you are today?
Band RoseWood members: Caleb Wood (lead singer/guitarist), Kasen Johnson (bass/backup vocals), and Mike Hicks (drums) were all raised in the south, Caleb and Kasen were raised in Tennessee and Hicks was raised in Florida but eventually moved to Tennessee.
We were all raised on Rock, Country, and Gospel music growing up, so we are influenced naturally by those genres, writing rock music but with a slight southern charm(?) to our melodys. Caleb’s dad is a baptist minister, so he especially feels the gospel and country influences sometimes whether he wants to or not.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
RoseWood formed in early 2020.
Kasen and Caleb met through honors choir at DeKalb County High School, and Mike was already a friend of Kasen’s and they had put time in at the studio together prior.
Together we have released 5 singles, with an album release coming soon(ish). It’s a big milestone for us, and our next milestone is reaching 100,000 collective streams, we are currently 3/4 of the way there. We are pretty excited about that.
Releasing music isn’t everything though, the biggest challenge is playing shows, which we have played many over the short amount of time we’ve been together, but we are working on getting more and staying busy, music promotion isn’t easy. That is probably our biggest challenge in the moment.
We love creating music and jamming, so really no matter what happens or how big the music gets, nothing will ever change about us, we just keep on rocking.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Obviously they’re coming to a RoseWood gig, don’t see how you can get any better than that.
Jokes aside, the lake is always a good place to relax or blow some steam off.
Fireman 1 BBQ truck by MapCo in town and Cloverleaf in Liberty are some of the best places to get a bite to eat real quick during the day, but at night Twisted Oaks Bar and Grille is the place to be.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Obviously our parents are the ones who raised us listening and playing music, but Ricky Scruggs is probably our biggest help throughout this entire process.
Scruggs is the owner and runs ‘Scruggs’ Recording Studio’ in Smithville TN. This is where we have done all of our recording and rehearsals through the last few years.
Ricky is the former touring bass player for Aaron Tippin’, but has also played for many other big names.
His experience and wisdom has really pushed us further than we could have been, and he’s really gone out of his way to support us in any way he can.
The biggest supporters we have are each other, and no matter how big we get it will always be that way. We’re not just a band, we’re all best friends that want to lift each other up every chance we get, we’ve been wanting a new member of the band for a while but we know they won’t have the same bond all three of us have, so we’re hesitant.
