Meet Sheldon Wyman | Entrepreneur and Real Estate Media Specialist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Sheldon Wyman and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sheldon, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Starting my own business had been the plan for a while, ever since I was in college. I began college thinking I wanted to be a mechanical engineer. However, as I pursued that degree, I realized I didn’t want to be stuck in one career path without creative choice. After switching majors a few times, I ultimately chose economics with a business administration minor.
After graduation, I thought that being a personal trainer seemed like a good option to start a business, so I formed my first LLC and began working towards building a personal training business. However, during the whole process, I was presented with another opportunity. The photographer that would do virtual tours for the real estate company my mom worked at was leaving. I was at a point where I needed a source of income, so I decided to learn about virtual tours and the real estate media industry. After a couple of months, I saw that I had been given a great opportunity and decided to shift my full focus to real estate media. I started learning more and offering services besides just the virtual tours, like photography, video walkthroughs, and drone services.
Since then, I’ve been focused on expanding my own skills and taking every chance to learn something new, as well as taking every opportunity to grow the business.

What should our readers know about your business?
My business is in the real estate media industry, and what sets me apart from others is my willingness to embrace change and adapt to new technologies and styles. I’m always looking for ways to improve and stay ahead of the curve, and I’m proud of the high-quality services that I offer my clients.
Getting to where I am today wasn’t easy, but I’ve learned a lot of valuable lessons along the way. One of the most important things I’ve learned is that failure and mistakes are opportunities for growth and improvement. I’ve also learned the importance of keeping an open mind and being willing to learn and try new things.
Overall, I want the world to know that my business is dedicated to providing the best possible service to my clients, and that I’m always striving to improve and stay at the forefront of the industry.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
One of the main draws of Durango is its stunning natural beauty. Visitors can explore the nearby San Juan Mountains, which offer a variety of outdoor activities such as hiking, biking, and skiing. The Animas River also flows through the town, offering opportunities for rafting, kayaking, and fishing.
Durango is also known for its rich history and culture. The town was founded in the late 1800s as a mining town, and many of the historic buildings and sites still exist today. Visitors can take a guided tour of the historic downtown area, visit the Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad Museum, or explore the nearby Mesa Verde National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site that preserves the ancient dwellings of the Ancestral Pueblo people.
In addition to its natural beauty and history, Durango has a vibrant arts and culture scene. The town is home to numerous galleries, museums, and theaters, showcasing a variety of local and regional art and performances.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
For me, I want to dedicate my shoutout to my mom and everyone else at The Wells Group in Durango. They’re the ones who provided me with the opportunity to get into real estate media and have supported me throughout the entire process. I knew that I wanted to be ready for whatever opportunity presented itself, and I’m so grateful that one did with their help.
Additionally, I want to thank my family and friends for their unwavering support. Without their encouragement and belief in me, my business wouldn’t be where it is today. And of course, I am incredibly grateful to all of my clients who have entrusted me with their real estate media needs. Thank you to everyone who has played a role in my journey.
