We had the good fortune of connecting with Paige Goss and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Paige, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I originally wanted to start PSG based on a deep desire to have more diversity in technology. I had been involved in technology for my career to that point and saw the challenges that existed for women in leadership and wanted to change what was possible. I left my corporate role at the end of 2016 and set out on a crazy journey of starting and running a company. What I didn’t know at the time was how much I cared about the overall impact I wanted to have on my community and on other entrepreneurs.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Point Solutions has gone through several challenges since we launched in 2017. We were primarily an infrastructure company that was focused on helping organization optimize the technology they had deployed. In 2018 we were sponsored for our facility clearance to do work in the federal government. That changed the entire trajectory of the company. As we grew organically over the next few years we were presented with several opportunities to grow through acquisition and did just that in late 2020. Little did we know that a global pandemic would forever impact the company. We struggled to continue to service our clients during the pandemic as we had engineers and team members across the country. Our go to market strategy drastically changed and we pivoted to more of a cyber security firm in early 2021. Since then, we have continued to expand our cyber offering and have leaned into the shifting landscape of professional services. Today we are in the middle of our biggest transition yet. We are working to split the company into 2 different brands and double down on the individual markets we serve.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Denver is a dynamic city. I have enjoyed my time here and have been very fortunate to meet great people. I would want to show anyone coming here the diversity in food, activities, and landscape. I would absolutely take people to Winter Park where I am fortunate to have a condo where I spend time with my family. The other areas I would have them explore are the vastly different areas of downtown where we currently office.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My wife deserves a ton of credit. I wanted to start a business for a long time and it was her final push that got things rolling. She has been my biggest fan and also the one that keeps me the most grounded. We moved to Colorado when she was pregnant with our twins and we didnt know anyone and also didnt have family. The tireless work she put into our family allows me to chase dreams and continue to make an impact in the work I do.
