We had the good fortune of connecting with Morgan Powell and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Morgan, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Go for it! I didn’t get this far in my life and career without taking risks. I like to ask myself, “what is the worst that can happen?” Once you let go of fear and get out of your own way, doors WILL open for you. You do not grow by staying in your comfort zone. If the worst actually happens, at least you know you tried!

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I am most proud of how we are changing the buying experience in an old industry. The Vault is unique in the fact that we curate the entire experience for your visit. My husband and I are huge music people and it is important to us that when you come into The Vault, you get to listen to what you like. We have a bartender here as well, so we offer cocktails and mocktails to each client. We further educate and provide transparency on where we are sourcing from, all in a private showroom established in a renovated historic bank. People come for the jewelry and stay for the experience.

After a decade in the diamond and male-dominated industry, I have learned along the way that people do not like disruption and competition. I want clients to feel empowered and educated when they are here and during the buying process. We stay focused on the client and our mission to deliver white glove service to everyone, no matter their budget.

Not everyone wants to see you win. The only competition is who I was yesterday and that I put my heart and soul into what I love and I get to do every day.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I was born and raised in Colorado and grew up going to Red Rocks. It is my favorite place in the state and every time I am there, rather for a concert, yoga class, or hiking, I get the same euphoric feeling.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I contribute my success to all of the love and support of my network, including my husband, family, friends and my professional relationships. Without growing up in an industry that is typically generational, I have learned and grown from the relationships I have built and without the hard work that they have pushed me to accomplish, The Vault would’ve never happened!
