We had the good fortune of connecting with Courtney Cain and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Courtney, what’s something about your industry that outsiders are probably unaware of?
I think people see balloons and say “hmm that’s easy to do”. It really is a job that requires creativity and thinking on your feet. All events are different and it’s fun to work with different clients to develop balloon art. I’ve had a few events where the clients booked and planned for outdoor events and weather interfered and we quickly had to reconvene, but it all works out great. You have to continue to be creative, learn, and adapt.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a professional with a love for health and fitness. I enjoy working with others to make them their best selves. I graduated with my BS from Texas A&M University and my MS from Texas Woman’s University. I’ve worked professionally for 10 years in corporate offices and currently continue to work for a health company. I desire to make the most out of life and elevating events is helping me and others to do so.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
There are an endless amount of things to do on the Denver area. I’d go to a Red Rocks Conert, have a drink at Union Station, even have a day drip to Breck. Then of course we have to spend time eating and having a local beer at one of the best spots in Castle Rock, Wild Blue Yonder!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My mom is my biggest inspiration. Growing up, she was always involved in school events and event planning of sorts. She planned and perfected my entire wedding. I loved being side by side with her as we worked through ideas and she has always inspired me to be creative.
