We had the good fortune of connecting with Katt Lyonsberg and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Katt, why did you pursue a creative career?
I was always told I should be a model and I loved taking photos. So I decided to try it. A clothing store needed models and I thought I would try applying and they picked me.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a model/entrepreneur. I also have experience in photography. I run a photography studio with my husband who is a photographer. I also am a writer for a magazine in the UK. What sets me apart is that unlike other models is that I represent myself and have my own studio. How I got here today was drive/hustling. I knew I wanted to represent myself and run my own business so I have been working towards it for years and it’s not easy. I think I just want people to know you can achieve what you want if you dedicate time & money to your passions. You gotta spend money to make money.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
There are so many places to see in Colorado. Manitou Springs is one of my favorites. The shops and the people and the views. It’s so beautiful there. Green mountain falls is another place that is just gorgeous. The nature is just breathtaking.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I wanna dedicate it to my husband. He has helped me pursue modeling and running my own business. We both run a photography studio. He is a photographer.
